Description

Janssen Sciences Ireland UC established its operation in Ringaskiddy in 2005 on a 100 acre site with an investment of €500 million. For more than 25 years we have been a global leader in the field of biomedicines, in particular pioneering monoclonal antibody technology a cutting-edge approach to producing medicines that launched a new generation of products to treat immune related diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and plaque psoriasis.
The facility in Ringaskiddy is operational producing biomedicines for both the treatment of immune related diseases and new and innovative cancer treatments.
In 2017, Janssen Sciences Ireland UC announced that it is to invest more than €300 million in the expansion of its manufacturing plant that will create more than 200 new jobs.

Job Purpose
We have a fantastic opportunity for 2 ambitious and bright apprentices to join the Janssen Family.
What you’re great at:
Our E&I fitter Apprentice will be based in our Maintenance department on site supporting the manufacturing areas and ancillary services.

The apprenticeships will provide the opportunity for the suitable candidate to become fully qualified in the relevant discipline through a mixture of on-site work experience and off site block release with SOLAS (previously FAS) through their Standards Based Apprenticeship Programme. The apprentices will be trained on a broad range of mechanical equipment as used in a pharmaceutical production facility.

Our Electrical Instrumentation apprenticeship, the apprentice is awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical Instrumentation.
This apprenticeship consists of four on-the-job phases with an approved employer and three off-the-job phases in an educational organisation. Apprentices will be invited to attend their off-the-training phases in accordance with the SOLAS scheduling system.

Qualifications

We would like to hear from candidates who have already completed the Leaving Certificate examination or will complete in 2018. Additionally, applications will be accepted from persons who have started but have yet to complete a relevant apprenticeship.

The successful applicants will have an aptitude for the mechanical trade or electrical trade and have a bias towards Maths and Science related subjects in the Irish Leaving Certificate
