Job description
The Intercompany Accountant role is responsible for performing all intercompany transactions and reconciliations for the North America scope serviced by Johnson & Johnson's Global Finance Center - Asia Pacific (Manila).
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Inter-company (IC) transactions
· Invoice inter-company transactions
· Participate in IC reporting and IC closes
· Prepare IC netting information and initiate wire transfers
· Respond to escalated IC queries and issues
· Provide direction in relation to J&J's IC policy with respect to the policy's guidelines and requirements for use, which involves independent judgment and analytical skills with regards to the policy
· Review IC invoices and requests for invoices for compliance with J&J corporate policies using independent judgment to assure adherence to the policy
· Voucher, maintain and manage IC payables for all J&J entities that are customers of GFS - Asia Pacific (Manila)
· Work closely with required parties to research and resolve differences with IC accounts
Customer Service
· Deliver service excellence and maximize customer service and satisfaction
· Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders (external / internal customers, co-workers)
· Maintain professional attitude during service delivery and resolution of issues
· Ensure that service levels and targets are met as per Service Level Agreements
· Perform problem tracking and ensure that issues are properly documented, prioritized, tracked, and resolved within the Service Level Agreements (SLA)
· Ensure proper and timely escalation of issues so that they are resolved to meet internal and external expectations
· Use a considerable amount of discretion in escalating issues to appropriate parties - co-workers, team leads and process managers
Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and innovate solutions so the team can operate in an efficient and cost effective manner
Audit and Compliance
· Comply with J&J related policies and procedure i.e., Worldwide Procedure (WWP), Internal Control Handbook (ICH), global process and any legal and regulatory requirement that J&J is obliged to adhere to
Team Performance
· Contribute to team effort and assist co-workers as needed to balance workloads
· Help to create a work atmosphere conducive to a high degree of integrity and teamwork
· Work both independently and as a team member
· Cross train with other accountants to provide backup and knowledge of other business areas
Desired profile
Qualifications :
· Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or finance-related course
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
· At least 1 full year accounting-related experience (AP/AR/GA); intercompany accounting experience an advantage
· Experience in a shared services center of a multinational corporation an advantage
· Strong team working and relationship building skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Flexibility to adapt to needs of diverse cultures and business disciplines
· Good analytical competencies
· Ability to prioritize own workload
· Displays ownership of tasks and deliverables, coupled with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and timetables
· Ability to work and communicate with management on resolutions of issues or decision making
· Excellent data entry and processing skills - eye for detail and accuracy
· Basic to proven knowledge of general accounting concepts, rules and legal requirements
· Experience with SAP or other ERPs an advantage
· Proficiency in basic MS Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) required
· Willing to travel for business/training (as required)
· Willing to work on weekends and Philippine holidays (as needed)
· Willing to work on graveyard shifts
· Willing to be assigned in Parañaque City, Metro Manila
