The Staff Engineer will be supporting project teams in the development of AF catheters and systems at Biosense Webster. Project support includes developing tooling/fixtures for New Product Introductions, validations and DOE studies. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): develop and utilize test protocols for Validations (IQ/OQ/PQ); generate written reports to assess the effectiveness of protocols for development products, catheters, systems and RF generators; and support product development teams in the design and testing of ablation catheters and systems. The position will develop tooling and test jigs for ease of manufacturing, possess the ability to develop processes for cycle time reduction and suggest improvements and methods for DFM (Design for Manufacturing).The Staff Engineer utilizes six sigma tools for process performance and enhancement, develops Process Instructions, BOMs and Manufacturing Operation Procedures and performs FMEA/DFMEA as needed.
The position leads Design Reviews on New Product Introductions, works with supplier quality to assure materials meet our drawing specifications, facilitates and leads meetings with cross functional teams and generates ECOs as required in cPDM system.
J2W: LI NAQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five years of related experience required. Class II or III medical device experience and regulated work environment experience preferred. The ability to exhibit adaptability and to work in fast-paced environment required. It is required the Staff Engineer be a self-starter, able to prioritize multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines and have sufficient knowledge developing and conducting efficient processes to meet production demands. The ability to utilize six sigma tools for improvements and efficiencies required and Six Sigma certification preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office skills are required. Experience utilizing MiniTab, Solid Works, and CAD software packages for tool and Jig fabrications preferred. The position is located in Irwindale, CA and may require up to 10% domestic and international travel.
