North American Regional Transportation Organization (RTO) is recruiting for a Sr. Transportation Services Analyst, within CLS North America based out of Skillman, NJ.CLS strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer facing-functions such as distribution, customer service, logistics and transportation. CLS supports all three sectors of Johnson & Johnson
- Medical Device & Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer Products – and is present in virtually all countries where J&J products are distributed. The CLS team reports to Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain and partners closely with groups throughout the supply chain and commercial organizations.
The RTO is seeking a Senior Transportation Services Analyst to effectively manage the strategic relationship with the 3PL providers that perform services across the RTO. This individual will identify and implement strategic process improvements through effective supplier management techniques and cross-functional collaboration and project management as needed. Perform analytics in support of cost improvement opportunities, transportation sourcing events, operations execution, and/or network optimization. This individual will serve as a liaison between internal RTO members, finance partners, carriers and the 3PL providers to ensure the services provided meets the needs of the users and spans all three J&J sectors. Additionally, this individual would be responsible for possessing a working knowledge of 3PL providers operating in the transportation services space with a good understanding of current services and technology being offered as well as J&J’s continually evolving requirements in this area based on voice of customer. Functionally, this individual will be responsible for the oversight of the Freight Audit and Post Freight Audit processes which manage $400MM+ of transportation related transactions which includes all 3 J&J sectors and all modes of transportation. This individual will also be the pillar leader for the freight audit module of the global TMS implementation in North America overseeing the process implementation and carrier migration.
The Sr. Transportation Services Analyst, CLS North America primary responsibilities will include the following areas.
Supplier Management
- Manage all aspects of strategic relationship that includes leading quarterly business reviews; budgetary oversight; metric development and reporting; liaison between internal and external business partners with providers. This position is responsible to continue to expand supplier capabilities ensuring that processes are efficiently and effectively accomplishing the Organization’s objectives.
Project Management
- will lead or assist in the identification and implementation of initiatives that will drive process efficiencies and/or cost saving opportunities for the organization. Support the integration of other system platforms that have a North America freight spend dependency.
Freight Payment Process Owner
- Ensure accurate and timely payment and allocation of $400MM+ of transportation related spend across all three J&J sectors. Individual is responsible for onboarding OPCO’s onto our freight pay audit company. Person will become the SME that provides training, invoice resolution, project guidance and support for cross functional departments. The individual will also conduct industry research in order to stay current with best in class 3PL offerings; implementing solutions that advance overall process efficiencies.
QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A degree focused in Logistics, Business, or Finance is preferred. A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required. Supply chain, operations, and/or purchasing experience are highly preferred. Supplier/customer relationship management experience is a plus. Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification is preferred. Experience in U.S. and International Transportation Industry is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Advanced knowledge of Excel is highly preferred. Candidate must have strong collaboration skills and able to influence without authority. Strong project management skills and strong partnering experience demonstrated by creating new relationships that drive cross-functional process improvements desired. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to functional leaders in upper management and external partners. Results oriented with strong track record of success in delivering on objectives. Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple priorities. Demonstrate initiative and strong analytical capabilities. Must work well in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. Ability to recommend and implement process improvements, strategic thinking. Excellent communication skills and Big Picture Orientation with attention to detail. Ability to respond to the needs of multiple customer requirements and reporting needs. Ability to train / educate internal business partners on processes, systems and procedures. Conduct benchmarking discussions with other shippers to explore best in class processes around ownership areas.
This position will be located in Skillman, NJ and may require up to 10% travel.
