The Johnson & Johnson Quality Systems & Services (QS&S) Portfolio Program Management Sr. Manager reports to the Sr. Director, Q&C QS&S S&D PPM and works closely with the Director of Q&C Strategy & Business Plan in the planning and execution of Strategic Planning Process, Business Planning Process, Goals & Objectives Management Process, and Cost of Quality/Value Realization Management Process. This individual will lead as a key contributor to the management of the portfolio of initiatives sponsored by the J&J Quality & Compliance leadership team (QCLT) and the J&J Quality Systems & Services leadership team (JJQSLT).This leader will work closely with stakeholders from across J&J including the Q&C-Strategy-Insights-and-Innovation Team, Segment and Corporate Strategy & Finance Teams, Information Technology, and Associates from across Quality & Compliance.
The Leader works in complete alignment with the Director of Q&C Strategy & Business Plan and Corporate Finance to plan and execute the annual process for refining the long-term strategy. This process requires effective communication with the Q&C-Strategy-Insights-and-Innovation Team, Segment Strategy and Finance Teams, and iterative review of templates and data associated with the qualitative and quantitative details of a multi-year Strategic Plan, culminating in executive presentations to Chief Quality Officer, Chief Supply Chain Officer, and their Leadership Teams, to maintain the Strategic Plan used to inform and influence business activities throughout the year.
The Leader works in complete alignment with the Director of Q&C Strategy & Business Plan and Corporate Finance to plan and execute the annual business planning process. This process requires effective communication with QS&S and IT stakeholders, and iterating on Project Portfolio System data, reports, and templates to identify, categorize, prioritize, and optimize the project portfolio (and headcount and supporting departmental budgets) for the coming calendar year, culminating in executive presentations to Chief Quality Officer and their Leadership Team for approval.
The Leader works with the Director of Q&C Strategy & Business Plan and Q&C VPs and their Leadership Teams to plan and execute the process to establish and manage the cascade of annual Goals & Objectives used to set, measure, and achieve critical outcomes.
The Leader works in complete alignment with the Director of Q&C Strategy & Business Plan and Corporate Finance to plan and execute the process of establishing the quantitative cost of quality, and the value associated with the business case for strategic programs (Value Stated), and tracking, monitoring, and reporting progress against the value stated over time to Q&C VPs and their Leadership Teams, in order to accurately measure the quantitative value delivered upon the successful completion of the program (Value Realized).QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in an engineering, science or business related discipline. A minimum of 8 years of experience in the life science (Consumer, Pharmaceutical, Medical Healthcare) industry is required. At least 8 years in a highly regulated environment and 8 years in a Portfolio Management Office are required. Outstanding organizational leadership, skilled at people leadership and change management, particularly during periods of great change is required, along with a proven ability to execute and get results through leading/influencing others. Ability to foster team productivity and cohesiveness, and to work in a complex matrixed environment with multiple, demanding stakeholders is required. Working knowledge of Project management systems and information technology (e.g. Clarity, Oracle Instantis) applications is highly preferred. Subject matter expertise in resource management and financial concepts including such areas as resource demand and allocation, risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting is required. Line management experience is preferred. Direct experience in managing enterprise level programs/projects is preferred. PMP and Process Excellence certification is highly preferred.
The position will be based in Bridgewater, NJ; New Brunswick, NJ; Raritan, NJ; or Horsham, PA, and will require 10-20% travel.
