Software Architect-8603150609DescriptionJanssen Healthcare Innovation (JHI) is recruiting a Software Architect to support the development of our Care4Today solutions.
Care4Today is an umbrella brand used by JHI for all of its enabling technologies and integrated care businesses. Currently JHI is trialing and building integrated care propositions in areas of great unmet need that align to Janssen and J&J’s long term strategic imperatives. Our initial focus is on building, trialing and commercializing technologies for community mental health care (Care4Today Mental Health Solutions), pre and post-surgical recovery (Care4Today Orthopedic Solutions), and mobile patient engagement (Care4Today Mobile Health Manager).Our new service models integrate care, educate, engage and empower patients and healthcare professionals alike. To date over a 1000 patients have been enrolled in our integrated care programs and exposed to our technologies. Evidence collected to date across the US and EMEA suggests that our Care4Today Solutions can improve clinical outcomes, drive productivity gains (reduces overall resource utilization) and increase patients and staff satisfaction; thereby having the potential for significant value creation for health care systems as a whole.

Responsibilities:Designing and building the Care4Today software solution(s) is the focus for the software architect role. The Software Architect creates and communicates solution architecture and designs that, together with the function specification, form the overall set of specifications for the solution.
The Software Architect collaborates with internal and external engineering teams to build high quality solutions that meet customer expectations and satisfy feature requirements expressed in the functional specification.
In addition to being a solution builder, the Software Architect serves the JHI team as the technology consultant. As a technology consultant, they provide input into design and technology selection decisions, as well as constructing functional prototypes to validate decision-making and mitigate development risks. Architecture and design: Provide solution-specific detail for application, data, and technology views of the architecture; Own and implement the logical and physical designs of the solution. Application Development; Code features to meet the design specifications; Conduct code reviews during development to share knowledge and experience; Carry out unit testing as defined in the test plan with the support of the test role. Technology Consulting; Serve the team as a technology consultant; Evaluate and validate technologies; Participate actively in the creation and review of the functional specification; Contribute to defining development standards for the organization.
QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field is required. A minimum of 8 years professional work experience in software product development is required. Experience in healthcare solutions development preferred. In depth technical knowledge in one or more focus areas – web-based software development, mobile development, database design and implementation, systems specification, and systems integration is required. Proven experience with technical architecture, design patterns, and requirements documentation is required. Demonstrated ability to write clear, well-organized code, architect and write reusable library code for the team of developers is required. Solid experience in collaborative application development using source control tools and strategies for using source control such as trunks, branches, merges, tagging, release management methods, etc. is required. Must have a passion for technology and for using technology to create impactful solutions; excellent internal communication skills (verbal and written) including ability to work with all levels of the organization; Strong focus on collaborating in a distributed or complex team environment.
