Position Title: Senior Manager Global Strategic InsightsLocation: Maidenhead, UKClosing Date: 30th September 2015Position Summary:We now have a great opportunity for a Senior Manager Global Strategic Insights to join our Consumer business in Maidenhead.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving strategies and priorities into Northern Europe, against the backdrop of the global strategy for each need state as well as ensuring Insights translate learnings into actionable recommendations that drive business growth. You are expected to demonstrate excellent communication and partner collaboratively with business teams to drive these initiatives into action.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide quantitative and qualitative research (consumer and Healthcare professional) to feed into the development of deep human insights to support strategy, strategic plans, Integrated Marketing Communications, Brand Equity, brand positioning and architecture, business model, Innovation and NPD, packaging, copy strategy as well as support for regional initiatives.
- Be the consumer and market authority on categories, driving to more global commercial innovation across both Global and Local equities
- Lead on the day-to-day ad hoc research activity for his/her businesses of focus (planning, designing and executing the work) as well as feeding into global innovation on prioritized territories working to be inclusive of all brands.
- Leads assessment of brand development in Northern Europe and recommendations on appropriate business model to launch.
- Identify and prioritize business information needs to feed into the Northern Europe learning plan and the most appropriate research strategies to deliver against business objectives.
- Uncovers new claim opportunities and leads development/validation/assessment of commercial innovation ideas.
- Integrate best practice learning and global standards to ensure ‘best-in-class’ performance and actively contributes to broader GSI initiatives.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and upper management to impact decision-making; Willingness to “have an opinion” backed up by insight and the confidence to influence key stakeholders in meetings and one to one basis
- Outstanding communication skills; Ability to think analytically to understand complex or ambiguous problems or issues and communicate solutions/conclusions clearly and concisely
- Highly strategic business knowledge with the ability to appropriately use judgment and risk-taking
- Must be capable of creating one’s own agenda and deliverables given knowledge and understanding of consumer businesses and GSI OGSMs
- Technical market research and analytical expertise and conversant in a range of quantitative and qualitative ad hoc research techniques and syndicated business analyses
- Strong track record of leadership in high performance consumer packaged goods environment.
- Extensive progressed experience in Market Research, preferably in a consumer marketing or manufacturing company.
- A Bachelor's degree is required; Post-graduate degree or equivalent in Market Research, Social Sciences or Statistics is preferred.
- This position requires approximately 15% domestic and international travel.
