Position Title: Shopper Activation ManagerLocation: Maidenhead, UkCling Date: 30th September 2015Position Summary:We now have a great opportunity for a Shopper Activation Manager to join our Consumer business.
The Shopper Activation Team have the responsibility of creating and implementing best in class Shopper activation along the full path to purchase. We drive the J&J strategy, our Brands strategy and retailer’s strategy to create innovative solutions that unlock the barriers to purchase to drive penetration, disruption and loyalty.
The Shopper Activation Manager is the pro-active link between Marketing, CS&P, Customer Development and our retailers and will focus on delivering Shopper executions which reflect the shopper’s needs and are strategically tailored across the path to purchase.
As part of this role, you will be involved in NPI launches, multi brand executions, retailer event plans and monthly activity linked with retailer promotional plans.
Main duties and responsibilities:Execution with Excellence:
- Be a Shopper Activation expert for assigned brands, amplify priority NPI to maximise J&Js share and be accountable for excellent delivery along the path to purchase
- Develop and implement a compelling POP plan for all identified NPI projects as well as supporting the retailer’s promotional activity programme
- Understand the path to purchase for assigned brands and categories to produce suitable instore materials and make strategic recommendations that unlock the purchase barriers
- Ensure all POS delivered has clear call to action for the shopper, is impactful, clear to read, aligned to brand equity (style guide) and addresses shopper purchase barriers to deliver increased sales
- Develop clear style guides in conjunction with Marketing to ensure consistency in execution across the retail trade as well as brand and regulatory approvals are met
- Engage and work in collaboration with J&J Legal, Reg’s and Medical teams to ensure product claims are developed within set parameters, whilst influencing the outcome
- Continually improve the quality of POS presence instore, benchmark versus competitors, learn from market best practice and innovate
- Compile Retailer POS guidelines, understand where there is flexibility and ensure style guides produced reflect these.
- Provide support as required as part of the e-detailing process
- Business Planning:
- Input into CD briefs as required by Marketing team and support CD team through Sales to Marketing planning process and external planning daysBudget Management:
- Responsibility for deploying the Shopper Activation budget for assigned brands, that will help drive our brand objectives and unlock the purchase barriers, across the path to purchase.
- Budget to be kept updated and ROI on all expenditure to be reviewed and plans developed accordingly
- Proposed plan for the full year to be aligned with Marketing and CD stakeholdersExternal Agency Engagement:
- Provides quality and timely briefs for external agencies (via Senior Instore Project Manager) and engages fully and swiftly to ensure a superior output and strong working relationships and on budget executionsQualificationsEducation and Experience:Experience Required:
- Instore communications, trade/retail marketing experience
- Communicating with multiple business partners
- Experience working with High street and Grocery retailers required, Pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience working with Medical Affairs (PAGB), and Regulatory teams preferred
- Commerciality, Innovation, Creativity, Project Management and a passion for retail execution
