Department DescriptionSmall Molecule Method Development (SMMD) is a department of Small Molecule Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing Sciences-Analytical Development (PDMS-AD). The department is responsible for:
- Small Molecule Method Development, Method Transfer and support.
- Focused analytical base business support for the Small Molecule (SM) R&D and Manufacturing product portfolio
- Development and implementation of new and innovative Analytical Technology Platforms for Small Molecules
- Analytical Centres of Excellence in:
- NMR & MS (Chemical Structural Elucidation, Organic Trace Analysis and Drug Chemistry) and cleaning validationIn the SMMD department in Beerse, Belgium, there is currently a full-time opening for a (m/f)Job description
- Design, lead and perform scientific experiments
- Apply state-of–the art scientific knowledge to ensure high quality of the delivered results
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of researchers and show willingness to learn/explore new techniques
- Support scientifically projects from early to late development phase
- Act quickly and provide expertise and solutions for investigations on commercial products
- Develop test methods and write scientific reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GMP and safety.
- Stay up to date with the scientific literature in the analytical chemistry field.
- Initiate and follow up collaboration with external partners and universities.
Qualifications
- You hold a Ph.
D. in Chemistry (MS
- analytical/organic), or a related science/engineering field or you have a minimum of 8 years experience in Pharmaceutical Industry.
- Good knowledge and experience in the field of organic synthetic chemistry; semi preparative chromatography; peptide-oligonucleotide and/or protein (bio)chemistry are an asset.
- Ambition to become an hands-on expert in semi preparative chromatography and mass spectrometry
- Prior experience in at least two of the following fields: NMR, MS, chromatography
- Ensure high scientific quality standards for experiments and take on responsibility for these experiments.
