This laboratory-based position is in the Receptor Occupancy and Target Engagement Assay Development group within the Biologics Clinical Pharmacology department. The group develops assays to measure the in vitro and in vivo interaction of biopharmaceutical drugs with their protein targets, both on cell surfaces and in soluble forms, in biological matrices. These assays are used to generate data from both preclinical and clinical studies to support PK/PD modeling to inform human dosing strategies. The primary focus for this position will be the development and qualification of flow cytometry assays to measure in vivo receptor occupancy of biotherapeutics to cell surface targets in whole blood and tissue samples, supporting an extensive effort in immuno-oncology pre-clinical and clinical drug development programs. Additional responsibilities may include the development of immunoassays to measure free and total forms of soluble drug targets in serum. All work will be performed in GLP-like conditions. In addition to the laboratory-based activities, the position will also require effective management of method transfers to CRO partners and the management of study bioanalysis at the CROs. The position resides in a highly interactive team, so collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills are both necessary and highly valued. S/he will effectively and frequently collaborate with colleagues within Biologics Clinical Pharmacology as well as the partners supported.
