The Project Lead, New Growth Platforms R&D organizes and manages special projects as directed by senior leadership. This role manages the development, rollout, and establishment of assigned projects. This includes coordinating project activities and being accountable for overall project success. The Project Lead is responsible for developing business plans, project plans, timelines, and resource requirements. He/She facilitates cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and interfaces with all necessary organizations (Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Operations, Finance & Information Services, Distribution, Production Planning, Suppliers, etc.) to provide for necessary business plans, design, support, and buy-in. Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives. Engages in J&J Credo-based decision-making. Other key responsibilities include: Develop and maintain project plan(s) and ensures that project milestones are met. Develop, oversee, and maintain budgets and business plans relating to current and future projects. Facilitate regular project updates & reviews. Ensure commitment of resources & acquisition of additional funding. Provide oversight, direction, funding and “Go”/“No Go” decisions. Identify and resolve issues related to strategy, risk & scope; escalate strategic issues to leadership. Approve project prioritization across multiple projects. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related discipline) is required. Military project lead experience will be considered. Master’s degree or PhD or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a with four-year degree is required; or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree. Five years of project management experience is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, finance, and resource planning is required. Requires command of standard and advanced principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in the technical field and various other related disciplines. Extensive knowledge of Design Control and GMP Requirements are highly preferred.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and to facilitate and resolve cross-functional activities and issues is required. Strong computer skills (network and PC) is required. Demonstrated success leading significant initiatives is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required. Proven leadership skills including motivating, negotiating and providing direction in a Team environment is required. Knowledge of product, process and method validations is preferred. Excellent planning, organization and time management skills is required. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.
This position is located in Jacksonville, FL and requires up to 20% domestic and international travel.
