Within Analytical Development of the global Janssen Research & Development organization in Schaffhausen we are offering an outstanding opportunity for aPrincipal Scientist (m/f) (Ref: 00000Y9G)In this position you are responsible for supporting and further developing two key centers of excellence (CoE) in the field of counting of proteinaceous particles in biotechnological products and container closure integrity testing (CCIT). Your scientific dedication and interest in a dynamic Research and Development environment are critical to ensure new and innovative applications and approaches. In the beginning, you will develop, validate and transfer analytical methods for the two CoE’s including protocol and report writing in a GMP environment. After a thorough on-the-job training you will propose and conduct feasibility studies for new technologies and approaches. In addition, you will attend global project team meetings to provide project updates and to actively participate in the planning of activities and providing feedback on timelines and resources to local management.
Your main tasks will include
- Responsible for supporting and further developing the two key centers of excellence (CoE) of the team
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) in these two areas
- Develop, validate and transfer analytical methods for the two CoE’s including protocol and report writing in a GMP environment
- Write scientifically sound and concise protocols and reports in English as well as acting as author and/or reviewer for selected analytical sections of registration dossiers
- Connect with internal and external experts to identify opportunities und to suggest new technologies and approaches to prepare the CoE for the future
- Work in a team-oriented environment and respect diversity and inclusion when interacting with partners and colleaguesQualificationsYour profileFor this position we are looking for an experienced, flexible and team oriented person with excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as the following hard skills:
- M.S. or PhD with 3-5 years experience in life science, material, analytical or pharmaceutical sciences
- Experienced in analytical development or quality control with significant emphasis on particle testing or container closure integrity testing in a pharmaceutical or other GMP regulated industry
- Knowledge of relevant GMP regulations for analytical laboratories
- Proven track record of scientific rigor and successful problem solving
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels, to positively impact productivity and business results
