- 3rd Shift-3060150630DescriptionMcNeil Consumer Healthcare, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for 3rd shift Pipefitter located in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, PediaCare® upper respiratory medicines for infants and children, ROLAIDS® antacid products, ST. JOSEPH® Adult Regimen Aspirin, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants. This role will support the manufacturing of several OTC products, including LISTERINE®, NEOSPORIN® , LUBRIDERM ® , DESITIN ® , and BEN-GAY®.The Pipefitter will be responsible for Maintaining, throubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and documenting a variety of utility equipment and systems throughout the plant including HVAC, dust collectors, fire suppression, steam, water, disposal, gas, air, hydraulic, plumbing, and manufacturing valves and pumps. The Piperfitter operates both electric-welding and acetylene-welding apparatus and adheres to procedures for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as specified by the Food and Drug Administration, as related to the job of Pipefitter.
The Pipefitter will install, maintain, and repair pipe lines including: steam, water, sprinkler, disposal, gas, air, hydraulic and process and their fittings, valves and traps. Cut and thread pipe as required. Cut holes in walls or floor as required for running pipe. Perform necessary pressure test on completed work. Insulate and repair pipe coverings as necessary. Troubleshoot, adjust and repair various air handling systems. Perform repairs to refrigeration units. Change filters as needed. Inspect, test and document fire sprinkler system as required. Perform and document routine inspections of fire extinguishers, air handling units, dust collectors and vacuum systems as required.
The Pipefitter will perform repairs to pumps and pump seals as necessary, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, maintain and install pneumatic controls in assigned areas. Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical circuits pertaining to HVAC units, restroom controls and solenoid valves. Plan and layout installations using piping standards. Perform work from piping sketches or blue prints. Choose the proper size and type for pipe for the application. Operate both electric and acetylene welding apparatus, fusing metal parts together to fabricate metal objects or to repair broken or cracked objects. Use welding equipment properly. Perform soldering and brazing as required. Cut, layout and weld stainless steel piping systems from GMPs.
The Pipefitter will work with other Engineering Craftpersons where pipefitting is required, understand equipment in the boiler room and how it interfaces with the rest of the facility in order to assist operating engineers as required, and enter data on PC pertaining to repair and maintenance of HVAC or Dust Collector Units. The Pipefitter will access data on PC to troubleshoot problems, Maintain cleanliness of work area, clean tools and equipment, and perform other duties as directed which are related to the job. However if work is unavailable in the colleagues classification, they may be given other work assignments.
This position requires the use of various hand and power tools, welding apparatus, V.o.m meter, calibration equipment and personal computer. The Pipefitter will observe all safety rules, housekeeping practices and procedures in the performance of duties and train other personnel as required. Proper protective clothing or gear must be utilized when required.
Duties involve work in all areas of facility. Will range from air-conditioning to 100 degree warehouse to work on roof of buildings. Involves working from ladders, platforms, climbing stairs, fumes from welding apparatus. May come in contact with various solvents and chemicals.
QualificationsThis role requires a minimum of high school diploma/GED and either a trade-school diploma in HVAC or military equivalent. The job will require a qualified Journey Person Industrial Pipefitter, HVAC-tech, or Plumber with a minimum of 5 years of on the job experience.
A written test will be administered to qualified candidates.
This position is located in Lititz, PA, and does not offer relocation assistance.
