The Medical Director will serve as a resource for a wide range of medical affairs activities initially covering primarily ASP, Mentor and Acclarent. This position will report directly to the Head of Medical Affairs of CSS. This individual will be responsible to communicate with the Head of Medical Affairs in a clear and timely fashion but will be expected to be able to function independently and lead processes and groups of associates as necessary.
The Medical Director’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: input into CER preparation, safety surveillance activities; provide expanded meeting attendance with other departments and provide medical expertise perspective to other associates; provide initial hands on management of publications and maintain timelines; provide initial review of CERs; interface with LCM team on MIRs (Medical Information Records) and develop supplemental data as necessary; provide a clinical perspective for copy review to LCM group; manage initial review of HHEs and obtain additional information prior to final medical review; prepare and/or manage presentations and manuscripts around clinical and medical affairs data. The Medical Director may also be responsible for other duties as necessary and assigned.
QualificationsThe candidate for this position ideally will have completed an education path resulting in an MD degree (or equivalent) and be trained/board eligible/certified in Plastic Surgery, Otolaryngology, or General Surgery with a current unrestricted license to practice and the ability to secure licensing in CA. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with direct patient contact is desirable. Dual board certification in Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology would be highly valued.
Excellent communication skills are required. Excellent presentation skills, preferably with a history of presentations at the regional or national level, are preferred. Proven leadership and proven ability to drive results working with a team of individuals is required. Outstanding digital skills including presentation preparation, document management, and other digital product preparation is required. Previous research, clinical trial experience, or medical industry employment is extremely desirable and a history of authorship of scholarly work is highly preferred. Ability to communicate in a second language is highly preferred. Very competitive salary and benefits.
