The Manager, US E-commerce
- Retail position is focused on overseeing the development of e-commerce growth strategies that support Acuvue’s US based B2B2C sites (e-retailers and omni-channel). The individual will manage Acuvue US based day to-day ecommerce projects from inception through launch to ensure deadline and goals have been successfully met. This role will partner closely with National Account Manager, Internet Sales to meet and exceed Internet Customer business objectives. Serves as the primary source of information & insights for B2B2C ecommerce projects and ensures clear communication between all relevant internal and external parties. The incumbent will work cross-functionally to help develop and execute promotions, content, advertising and contact strategies and to drive new customers & maximize the contribution per customer over the customer lifecycle. The position will also liaise closely with the Global E-commerce team in order to drive the global strategy at a local level and leverage local learnings to inform the global strategy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of both strategic and tactical thinking.
In close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Customer Strategy (and content development teams), execute programs to drive the B2B2C business; Establish and determine key objectives for improvements for B2B2C sites; ensure site upgrades are properly planned and completed in a timely fashion.
Work with Sales, Marketing, Customer Strategy and E-commerce to brainstorm, concept, scope, prioritize and manage online B2B2C projects.
Execute full lifecycle project management on US based B2B2C e-commerce projects, including strategic planning, analysis and documentation of business requirements, functional and technical specifications, scoping, scheduling, functional team handoffs and guidance through sales implementation.
Liaise with cross-functional teams to collect functional/feature, technical, creative and content requirements and ensure open communication and workflow between all parties and key project stakeholders.
Maintain detailed project plans, identifying key milestones, dependencies, and project resource needs.
Run cross-functional project review meetings, providing agendas, detailed meeting summaries and action item/open issues lists.
Provide overall project management and support, monitoring progress against objectives, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders and Executives.
Identify and manage open issues, working cross-functionally to determine remedies as necessary.
Work with Ecommerce and Sales team to prioritize competing requirements and external demands for resources/timelines.
Create, manage and stay within budgets; Assess cost/time impact for out of scope project requests or changes. Ensure that the project team is notified promptly of any potential change in project scope and expected deliverables.
Responsible for maintaining best-in-class customer experiences across JJVCs B2B2C sites. Ensure best practice and user centered design when working with Sales and E-tailers to add new features.
Establish key objectives for site improvements with Sales & Global Ecommerce team; continually improve online experience by understanding visitor and buyer behavior and exceeding customer expectations.
Oversee updates to taxonomy, features and functionality to improve the user experience – Contributes to online content by testing and implementing improved web usability, page flow, navigation and content to support the overall objective of increasing visitors’ conversion rates.
Work collaboratively on e-retailer projects to drive customer and acquisition traffic and conversion to meet and exceed budgeted goals for e-retailer sites. This includes Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), affiliates, email, marketplace, social media, and all appropriate, cost effective vehicles to drive on-line revenue growth and profitability as it relates to that e-tailer.
Partner closely and align with Internet Sales manager and e-retailers to advance their e-tailing strategies aligned to JJVC goals; Maintain superior relationships with Vision Care’s customer partners at all levels within the organization.
Partner strategically and actively with the Field Sales organization and Marketing to leverage trends and real time market information and develop programs to drive profitable growth among omni-channel accounts both at a national and regional level.
In collaboration with US Marketing Sales & Customer Strategy teams lead frequent internal and external evaluations of the retailer sites to ensure the optimal customer experience, including regular competitive analysis of direct competitors and relevant non-competitors.
Act as Online Subject Matter Expert for B2B2C web projects providing best practice leadership and direction for online user experience.
Provide guidance in the development of concepts, strategies, planning, implementation and coordination for e-commerce business activities as part of annual business planning.
Leverage data and insight from customer analytics to make data-driven changes to form actionable insights which accelerate growth and improvements in overall programs; monitor the success over time.
Provide digital thought leadership and consultation to cross-functional sales teams in order to build best-in-class e-retail and omni-channel sales strategies.
Serve as a key driver and influencer of new e-commerce ideas, programs and offerings focused on converting shoppers to buyers within the US.In close collaboration with US Marketing, Sales and Customer Strategy, help to establish processes and practices for the development of content and tactics focused on driving JJVC initiatives on retailer websites.
Monitor industry benchmarks and trends in customer and consumer behavior & technology. Provide POVs on existing and emerging e-retail trends, benchmarks and tactics to help evaluate e-retail opportunities available.
Assist with selecting vendors and managing vendor relationships; develop, document and maintain procedures to expedite working with vendor partners.
Participate as a key leader within the total e-commerce ecosystem at JJVC; Connects across Global marketplaces share best practices and key learnings.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent degree is required. Master’s degree preferred.8 years relevant digital or customer sales related work experience including a minimum of 3 years leading e-commerce or digital business’s for a retail organization.
Experience managing a P&L for a digital business with a proficient understanding of financials and budget management is preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of the digital ecosystem and how e-commerce, web, mobile, social, search and channels work together to optimize behavior, acquisition and sales required.
Experience managing website content and activities associated with website launches/redesigns including menu architecture development and web page layouts and graphic designs is required.
Advance analytical skills with knack for interpreting trends and data, and making informed projections/assertions is preferred.
Knowledge of digital E-commerce technology architecture and implementation is preferred.
A strong leader capable of developing, coaching, managing and motivating a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required.
Ability and desire to work at both the strategic and tactical levels with proven success at developing integrated digital businesses from strategy through execution with a passion for driving profitable growth is preferred.
Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and balance a portfolio of programs.
A strong influencer to lead a diverse group of team members and stakeholder across multiple business areas.
Comprehensive knowledge of the E-commerce space and E-tailing and how to apply this knowledge to effectively solve complex problems required.
Must have strategic business planning, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, and strong analytical skills, all while maintaining ability to think strategically and exude strong negotiation/leveraging skills is preferred. Experience working collaboratively with e-retailers to analyze and interpret their data in order to build successful programs is required.
Exceptional business communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex messages to diverse audiences.
Proven ability to manage and distribute budgets and resources effectively.
Ability to resolve competing priorities for the team relating to products, customers, sales force and channel.
Comprehensive ability to identify risks and business opportunities to support the business plan objectives and to effectively communicate insights.

Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence up one or more levels and at top-to-top levels across J&J and the customer is preferred.
This position could require on average, 20-30% travel.
