Reporting to the Global Director Instrument Supply, the Instrument Supply Network Manager is expected to lead and partner with Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, Finance, Franchise, and Communication Leaders to deliver against the Vision 2020 goals, including 50% Instrument cost reduction.
This role will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the global network strategy for Instrument Supply required to achieve Global Orthopedics business results. The leader will possess a strong understanding of supply chain with strategic foresight and will look for new ways of achieving the goals.
Scope includes global internal and external manufacturing of instrumentation across the entire end-to-end value stream. The role requires a heavy interface to Manufacturing, Finance, Strategy & Development, Commercial and Procurement organizations.
The Manager of Instrument Supply Network Strategy will define segment network strategy and key projects for Global Orthopedics Instrument Supply. Lead Make-Buy process and Network Optimization for Global Orthopedic Instrumentation. Develop business case and cost/benefit/investment analyses to facilitate sound business decision-making. Will be the primary liaison with the franchise teams to integrate R&D and Commercial strategies, including decomplexity and NPI’s, into long-term decision making business cases. Retain the relationship with Global Orthopedic Manufacturing and Procurement organizations to ensure constant collaboration, and leveraging of talent and solutions. Serve as the primary liaison between the Innovation & Instrumentation and GO Strategy & Development teams. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Site Finance teams on all financial evaluations. Will be a critical member of the Global Orthopedic Network Strategy Governance team. Leverage standard analysis and prioritization tools from JJSC.QualificationsTo be considered for this role a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering or related field is required. A Master’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 8 years of business experience is required. Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred. Finance and/or Business Development experience preferred. Experience leading Strategic Programs and value measurement is preferred. Experience in Supply Chain functions, and/or R&D is preferred. Broad knowledge of medical device manufacturing processes and applications is preferred. Ability to translate strategy into execution. Effective communication skills; ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Leadership skills; ability to lead a team of independent project professional and managers to drive results. Result & performance driven with bias for action and sense of urgency on priorities. Strong interpersonal, collaboration competencies. Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong business relationships across a matrixed organization. Change Management. Ability to work and effectively manage priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
This position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel. The preferred location for this position is West Chester, PA or Zuchwil, Switzerland, but can be located at any of the following DePuy Synthes sites: Raynham, MA; Warsaw, IN; Elmira, NY; Monument, CO; Palm Beach, FL; San Jose, CA; Juarez, Mexico; Leeds, UK; Blackpool, UK; Cork, Ireland; Suzhou, China.
