The company develops, manufactures and markets innovative, science-based products for surgical and non-surgical medical procedures that allow patients to improve their quality of life through breast, body and facial aestheticsThe Global Director, Supply Chain Planning position is designed to have oversight and coordination of the overall Supply Planning and Regional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. It will be the key interface working with the Cardiovascular Specialty Surgery group (One CSS), and will drive strategic supply chain leadership, Customer First performance, and end-to-end management. The One CSS group includes BWI, Mentor, ASP and Acclarent. Specific metrics for performance will include OTIF, Inventory, MAPE/Bias, and SKU Productivity. This role will lead the Franchise Planning process, both tactically and strategically (to include long term capacity planning and sourcing strategies). It will ensure that the new product development cycle is planned and supported to enable business plan achievement, and that the promotion execution process provides the commercial organization with incremental volume opportunities. This individual will lead collaboration across internal functional partners including Procurement, Product Management, Customer Logistics, External Operations, Manufacturing and Finance.
The Director, Global Supply Chain Planning will work closely with the franchise teams to support their business plans to develop supply chain and operations strategies and tactics to support commercial requirements, business plans, strategies and points of competitive differentiation. Assess and monitor mid to long-term capacity requirements (including Capex investments). Prepare decision making analyses on strategic product sourcing strategies (make vs. buy). Direct efforts to evaluate relevant technology evolutions to support future business needs.
The Director will work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Product Management, Customer Logistics, and Commercial groups to drive Customer Service Metrics (OTIF, MAPE/Bias, Inventory, and SKU productivity) to drive collaboration throughout the supply chain to understand customer needs and translate external customer requirements into our supply chain strategies. Develop the required supply chain responsiveness and agility to better meet customer needs and work with functional leads to drive network improvements in overall supply chain reliability and responsiveness. Develop robust planning processes that provide visibility to demand and supply throughout the supply chain. Optimize New Product Introduction (NPI) performance and promotion processes along with championing SKU segmentation, harmonization and customization efficiencies to further improve SKU productivity,The Director will ensure integrated supply chain optimization through leading S&OP processes and meetings, supporting the balancing of demand vs supply decisions and coordinating resolution of major supply chain issues for the respective franchise Global Business Unit. Utilize end-to-end supply chain processes to foster harmonization and support customer needs. Work with Business Process and Systems functional leads to drive improvements. Work closely with the Functional Leads (planning, manufacturing, delivery, etc.) to drive change and new ways of thinking, introducing and leveraging best practices, learning models and Lean principles; all in the pursuit of end to end supply chain excellence. This role will be a key part of the One CSS E2E Supply Chain team.
QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related discipline preferred. A minimum of 10 years of related experience in supply chain, operations, logistics and/or manufacturing is required. Experience in a FDA regulated industry preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a management/supervisory role is required. Must have the ability to manage cross-functional teams. Global experience preferred. Experience in large Supply Chain and/or Logistics organizations with a progressive track record of success is required. Knowledge of overall supply chain processes with in-depth experience in one or more of the following is required: Planning, Distribution, Manufacturing, Sourcing or New Product Project Management. Experience with multi-site operations, strategic planning, supply/demand chain optimization, planning, team/resource management, process design and implementation, negotiations, vendor/partner alliances and Mergers and Acquisition integration, preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Experience with ERP systems and processes (e.g. forecasting, NPI, planning, supply chain metrics) required. Knowledge of Process Excellence (Lean, Six Sigma) tools and methodologies preferred. Lean or Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) Certification is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must have strong analytical problem solving skills. Must be a seasoned and results-oriented professional who can align and connect functional partners to drive performance. The ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and influence decision-making across a matrix organization is required.
