EMEA Emerging Markets – New Business Development Manager-00000ZKVDescriptionEMEA Emerging Markets – New Business Development ManagerAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated NBD manager to work on high profile regional business development projects within the EMEA Emerging Markets Region. This position reports to the Director NBD Emerging Markets.
The Role
- Identification of gaps and needs in portfolio at regional level to support future growth strategies
- Screening and asset identification
- Managing the NBD portion of opportunities from screening through long to shortlisting until contract signature in close collaboration with JBD
- Working on high profile, strategic regional business development projects
- Supporting all activities necessary for full commercial evaluations of regional licensing and acquisition opportunities in a variety of therapy areas
- Partnering with relevant local or regional functional representatives (R&D, MAF, Strategic Marketing, Reg. Affairs, HEMAR, legal, finance etc) in order to answer all open questions in evaluating new product / company opportunities
- Recommendation of a particular course of action to senior local/regional management
- Supporting local NBD teams with internal J&J networking and approval of projects
- Proactive networking with local New Business Development counterparts in other relevant markets
- Take leadership on EMEA – wide regional key projects, e.g. franchise lead, Aspire! NBD leadQualifications
- Key strengths in strategic thinking, problem solving and project leadership
- Analytical ability to absorb large quantities of technical information, create compelling business cases and make strategic recommendations / decisions
- Track record of communicating clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms to senior management and coping with extensive challenges
- Tenacious: will try all possible methods in order to answer specific business questions; able to keep focused even though majority of projects come to nothing
- Comfortable representing the region in highly visible projects
- Relationship building / Team-player: good at working with your peers across multiple countries and time zones.
- Understanding and enjoying cultural differences
- Independent working / self-motivation: be able to work on your own and deliver on projects with limited support
- Ability to work to short timelines and maintain strict confidentiality
- Outstanding technical ability. Confident working with databases, spread sheets, power point to find data and generate presentations to fulfil needs of the project
- Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) could be beneficial
- Action / task orientation with ‘can do’ attitudeLocationThe incumbent of this position can be based anywhere in EMEA.Travel:Because this is a regional role, the applicant would need to be prepared to travel throughout the region.
