The purpose of this position is to provide EHS&S support for Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP) activities at Irvine and Mira Loma facilities. This position is critical in ensuring employees and contractors are working safely and abiding to established EHS&S guidelines. This position reports to EHS&S Site Lead who will provide performance feedback, coaching, and be accountable for conducting performance reviews. Day to day, this position will work in conjunction with ASP associates, contractors, and vendors.
Furthermore, this position will support Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability organization goals as well as ensuring ASP employees are provided with a safe and environmentally compliant workplace. This is expected to be a 40 hours/week position. Work schedule flexibility is required for activities that might need coverage beyond the normal work schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pmJob responsibilities include: conducts ergonomic evaluation and Job Safety Analysis; partners with supervisors to complete investigation on EHS&S incidents/near misses; manages hazardous waste program; oversees hazardous / biological waste contractor; reviews new equipment/processes to ensure adherence with compliance and EHS&S standards; leads monthly cross functional EHS&S team; coordinates with facilities to assess projects and qualify contractors; collects necessary metrics for corporate and regulatory reports; conducts EHS&S training; actively participates in emergency response team; collaborates with key players to completes action items such as lock out / tag out, safety culture, environmental sampling, machine guarding, hot work permitting, electrical safety, etc.
He/she will: Assist EHS&S Site Lead with development, implementation and maintenance of EHS&S programs; conduct periodic inspection of different areas to identify environmental and safety compliance issues; recommend corrective actions and best management practices; support internal and external audits such as ISO 14001; and perform other duties as assigned by management and/or EHS&S staff.
This position will need the: Ability to lead people and get results through others; have strong interpersonal and communication skills; as well as have strong organization skills to manage multiple priorities and ensure on-time deliverance. This person will need to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to cross-functional levels of the organization. Other skills include being a strong team player, problem solver, detailed oriented, independent thinker, etc.
J2W:LI NAQualificationsThe following experiences are required: Minimum 4+ years’ of related experience; College/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level (10 years of experience); knowledge and experience with safe work practices (ergonomics, machine safety, lab safety, lock out tag out, etc.); working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations; experience in reading, interpreting and revising documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, EHS&S procedures; ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with occasional weekends and overtime;The following experiences are preferred: ISO 14001, general safety, emergency response, and ergonomics; Industrial Manufacturing and Research Lab experience preferredThis role will be primarily located in Irvine, CA and will require up to 20% of local travel to Mira Loma, CA; Riverside, CA; and Santa Ana, CA.BE VITAL in your career.
