- Consumer R&D Analytical Chemistry Co-Op(Job Number: 5115150422)DescriptionUnder routine supervision, the Analytical Chemistry Co-op will follow standard operation procedure, be trained on the operation of state-of-art instruments, in particular HPLC and LC MS, help in literature search, participate in experiment design, carry out the studies as planned, troubleshoot abnormalities, summarize results, andpresent the data in the format of official reports internally, and/or conference presentations/peer reviewed scientific journal articles publically. They will also maintain records in accordance with cGMP. Embrace and demonstrate the Company's values on an ongoing basis. Perform other duties as assigned and directed. Communicate potential problems and issues to the supervisor in a timely manner. Review unusual results with the supervisor. Participate in analytical laboratory investigations as needed. Acquire, maintain and apply current professional knowledge and skills associated with the job. Order laboratory supplies as needed. And adhere to regulatory, Johnson & Johnson and departmental requirements.
General OverviewCandidates apply for one overall Consumer R&D Co-op position in Analytical Chemistry that makes him/her eligible for specific department opportunities. Our Co-op positions are usually for 6 months of full-time work. Positions can be located in various Consumer Companies locations throughout the US.Our Fort Washington campus is home to two members of the Johnson & Johnson Family of companies: McNeil Consumer Healthcare & McNeil Nutritionals, LLC. We are located in beautiful Fort Washington, PA, just 15 miles outside of Philadelphia. The campus is easily accessible by SEPTA Rail, with a McNeil shuttle running to and fromthe station daily.

Housing AssistanceBased on location of assignment, Johnson & Johnson offers housing assistance to Co-ops who live more than 50 miles from their work-site location. This housing assistance includes options for subsidized rent in a fully-furnished apartment close to the work-site location, or a stipend payment for candidates to use at their discretion. Daily transportation to and from the work-site location is the student’s responsibility, as most locations are not accessible via public transportation and company transportation is not provided.
QualificationsSuccessful Co-op candidates must:
- have permanent work authorization in the US. We cannot consider students requiring future sponsorship.
- have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
- be currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelors degree. Preferred fields are Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline
- Candidate must have at least 1 year (2 semesters) of science related college experience, including college courses in General Chemistry & Laboratory.
- Successful completion of Organic Chemistry, and basic knowledge of HPLC and LC MS, are strongly preferred.
- students in their Sophomore year and higher are strongly preferred.
