The District Manager is responsible for the cardiology and institution customer segments within their assigned geography. The District Manager leads a team of Cardiology and Institutional Sales Specialists to compliantly deliver sales results by developing and executing a targeted District sales strategy for Janssen Cardiovascular & Metabolism (CVM) portfolio of products, tailored to local market and customer conditions. The District Manager is accountable for delivering sales quota, market share, and market share growth in the assigned District by directing the activities of the team. The individual uses sound judgment to execute compliant, tailored strategies specific to customers in the District, including physicians, medical practices and staff, hospitals, hospital networks, clinics, purchasing departments, pharmacies, District/Regional Associations and Organizations, and other pertinent stakeholders and sites of care. The District Manager fosters a culture of engagement and leads and motivates the team to deliver business objectives by setting clear expectations, adjusting strategy as needed to address changing local market conditions, and continually developing the competency of team members. The District Manager identifies and develops influential relationships across the District, maximizes access, formulary status, and contracting efforts, while fully supporting the team’s business development efforts. The District Manager coaches and develops Sales Specialists who influence clinical and non-clinical stakeholders within assigned area/accounts to support the use of all supported products by applying in-depth clinical and business expertise, and effective selling skills. The individual identifies and builds a network of key opinion leaders, influencers, and stakeholders across the District to support business development activity and to increase access to decision-makers. The individual exhibits Credo Values and a compliance mindset and works collaboratively with internal and external partners to execute strategies that support business development beyond the District.

QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required; a minimum of six (6) years of professional sales experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or healthcare industry is required; a minimum of two (2) years of experience managing and leading a team is strongly preferred; prior experience in selling to and/or leading sales teams who sell to institutional or hospital customers is preferred; examples of company awards or participation in a management development program is preferred; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required; candidates must reside within the stated geography or be willing to relocate to the stated geography; an in-depth knowledge of the U.S. healthcare industry including an understanding of key stakeholders and delivery of care models is preferred; demonstrated success in delivering sales results and/or achieving targets by leading sales teams is required. This position will require travel which may include overnights and/or weekends in support of the business.
