This is position is designed for a new college hire and candidates must be recent college graduates.

The device engineer will be involved in pharmaceutical development of Janssen’s combination products with a focus on device development activities. He/she will provide device engineering support in device development with cross functional teams, collecting customer needs, generating and developing device concepts, prototyping, testing and screening devices, troubleshooting /optimization, and assisting scale up and industrialization activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in identifying user needs and set direction for device development for combination products. Provide support in leadership and technical expertise for device concept selection, device development/optimization, usability improvement, device prototyping, device risk assessment, device verification and device validation. Develop and set up test methods and conduct device testing for screening, optimization, and complaint and failure investigation. Write technical memos, test protocols and technical reports.
QualificationsQualified candidates must be a recent graduate from a college or university, graduating no more than 12 months prior to their start date with a Master’s degree or Ph.
D. in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidate should have knowledge of industry standard (ex: ISO, AAMI, ANSI). Familiarity with design control and generation design control documents is preferred. A candidate with a working knowledge of human factor testing is preferred. Candidates should have a working knowledge and experience using CAD software (Pro Engineering, Pro-E, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.). A basic understanding of device and materials reliability, design of experiments, statistics, device modeling is a preferred.
