The Community Liaison, Infectious Diseases will manage assigned geographical area in the development of a plan to establish relationships and educate key influential community activists, allied health care professionals/case managers and key AIDS Service and/or Community-Based Organizations (ASOs/CBOs) to optimize patients’ ability to access and remain in care.
Essential functions include:Establish relationships and educate allied health care professional and case managers to optimize their ability to access care for patients as well as to keep patients in care. Maintain an appropriate level of clinical knowledge regarding HIV and AIDS.Deliver patient-focused materials to ASOs/CBOs. Coordinate and facilitate educational programs to patients when appropriate and within HCC guidelines. Attend and participate in District meeting and District Council to provide an understanding of the changing demographics of HIV/AIDS, government regulations, new technology, research and development, and changing market conditions.
Maintain appropriate routing and scheduling to create an effective call plan for geography effectiveness. Responsible for frequent cross functional collaboration, including Marketing, Business Analytics, Health Care Compliance, Sales Learning and Development, Sales. Build and maintain relationships with targeted local and regional professional associations and community advocates.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years of Marketing, Sales, Clinical or Community experience required. Healthcare industry expertise and an understanding of key stakeholders in the healthcare environment in this geography are strongly preferred. Experience in HIV market working with ASOs/CBOs and other advocacy groups preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred.
Strong ability to build long-term internal and external customer loyalty and relationships required. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and customize customer plans with a solution orientation required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required. The ability to clearly and appropriately convey and present information and ideas in an effective and impactful manner through a variety of approaches required.
This role is field-based and will require up to 60% domestic travel within a multi-state geography.
