This position is for an Associate Scientist in the PDMS Cell Banking Center of Excellence team in Malvern. The scientist will be part of a team effort to provide cell banking services to PDMS, other R&D customers, Janssen Supply Chain and other clinical and commercial manufacturing sites. The scientist will perform cell culture according to Standard Operating Procedures using Good Manufacturing Practices. Primary responsibilities will be 1] Culture and cryopreservation of a variety of cell lines 2] Preparation and tracking of test samples to external test laboratories 3] Writing Standard Operating Procedures and other documents for the Cell Banking group. 4] Inventory and shipment of cells to customers.
The candidate will culture and cryopreserve CHO, murine and human cells using good aseptic technique and following Standard Operating Procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices. Responsibilities include preparation, shipping and tracking cell banks for release testing and stability testing, authoring SOPs, batch records, technical reports, CoAs, and regulatory documents in ERIS, eDoc and Pharmadoc. The candidate will communicate cell bank release timelines with individual customers and project teams, maintain inventory of cell lines, process requests and ship cells to internal and external customers. The candidate will be responsible for GMP media preparation and assist in Environmental Monitoring of water, gas and cleanroom air & surfaces. The candidate will assist in equipment monitoring, maintenance and validation and contribute to investigations and corrective actions for events and deviations.
QualificationsBS in Biological Science with at least 2 years of related industry experience or a MS with at least 1 year of related industry experience is requiredPrevious experience with cryopreservation and testing of cells is preferred, and experience in cell culture is requiredWorking experience in a cGMP environment, and knowledge of small-scale media preparation would be preferredThe candidate is required to have basic Microsoft MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point)Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams are requiredOccasional weekend/holiday coverage will be requiredBE VITAL in your career, Be seen for the talent you bring to your work.
