The Area Business Specialist is responsible for securing and preserving patient access to JBI Oncology products. Within a defined geographic territory, provides proactive support to target accounts with a focus on health plan coverage, patient affordability, contracting, reimbursement, practice management and selling at an executive level. Present approved programs to appropriate audiences to promote product access. Additionally, will consistently demonstrate business acumen, leadership and serve as a resource to Internal and External Customers regarding payer policies; reimbursement regulations and processes; practice management; Medicare Part D; and staffing resources; will consistently demonstrate strong leadership within the Oncology franchise as opportunities present themselves.
The Area Business Specialist will collaborate and partner with RBDs, DMs and other internal and external teams. They will be the experts on access, contracting, pricing, and reimbursement. Provide customized collaborative solutions to support oncology / urology / nephrology practices. Establish and maintain customer relationships (i.e., oncology, urology, etc.) through education of Specialty Pharmacy Providers, Medicare, Patient Access, Exceptions and Appeals. Conduct local market business analysis to identify opportunities and prioritize activities. Execute business objectives for community, academic, and government institutions. Leverage knowledge of payer environment to support growth of product portfolio. Establish MBOs for assigned territory that strategically drive sales results and increase product(s) market share. Take a leadership role in developing account specific strategic business plans for assigned territory / accounts in partnership with franchise sales team. Adapts plan as needed based on changing market conditions that support area, regional and national sales initiatives for product growth. Proactively team with HPAD to identify advocacy opportunities, supporting per tenant local medical societies based on market needs. Proactively demonstrate leadership in support of the RBD, DMs and other members of field sales team to achieve team and regional goals. Consistently lead members of sales force in all aspects of access, pull-through, and reimbursement activities. Effectively partners with Managed Markets team based on market dynamics. Act as a liaison between providers and Managed Markets team. Demonstrate a high level of expertise when working with Internal and External customers: local, regional and national payer policies; reimbursement regulations and processes (i.e., eligibility and benefit verification, pre-authorization, billing, coding, claims, and appeals/grievances); practice management; Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations; OSHA; HIPAA; and specialty pharmacy product flow.

QualificationsQualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; a Master’s Degree in a related field or an MBA is preferred; a minimum of twelve (12) years of pharmaceutical, biologic / biotech, or medical device sales experience or the business equivalent (i.e. marketing, sales training, healthcare, managed care, or military leadership, etc.) is required; a minimum of six (6) years in specialty sales (i.e. pharmaceutical, biologic / biotech, or medical device sales) is required; an understanding of the local healthcare environment and the ability to apply that knowledge / expertise within accounts based on local opportunities is preferred; knowledge of the Oncology and Urology Market is preferred; a proven ability to develop and execute extensive business plans is required; the ability to understand and comply with all Health Care Compliance Guidelines and Policies is required; business acumen, strong platform skills and experience in presenting to and educating large groups on complex subject matters is preferred; moderate to significant travel including required overnights, meetings, and training is required; demonstrated competence in fleet safety is required; candidates must have a valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 United States along with a clean driving record; candidates must satisfy reasonable credentialing requirements, including, but not limited to TB tests, Hepatitis B vaccine, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella (chicken pox); candidates are required to submit to annual background checks by Janssen Biotech, Inc.
