Contract type - This is a permanent position

Salary range - The salary range for this role is set at £52,200 - £75,000
·
Working pattern - This is a blended working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London Central Office. There will also be an expectation to visit other locations across the UK as the need arises.

This role requires you to be on call (on a rota basis) in order to provide emergency safety response 24/7 for all JLP sites.
About the role and responsibilities:
·
As one of the Safety Support and Implementation Managers for the Partnership you will be accountable to deliver both proactive and reactive support services for health and safety within the Partnership’s supply chain, Leckford Farm estate, Partnership hotels, central offices and our manufacturing unit at Herbert Parkinson, Blackburn.
·
This role will be the face of health and safety across all of the above locations, working directly with, and supporting Partners on a day to day basis and will require extensive stakeholder management. We adopt a matrix working model within the team and so you will also be expected to support your peers if required in Retail, Projects & Assurance and Fire Safety.
·
You will support the management and continuous improvement of the Partnership’s central safety management system (including the safety management manual) and the internal systems audit programme under the requirements of ISO 45001.
·
You will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of the Partnership’s safety incident management/COSHH tooling and will own the relationship with our third parties that deliver these solutions on our behalf. You will deliver this in a reliable and cost effective manner, responding to the needs of our users and will seek to continuously improve these services by defining target capabilities informed by the Partnership Risk Appetite (capabilities will be a blend of people, processes and technologies), and maintaining/progressing a prioritised plan of improvement projects to deliver these capabilities.

You will represent the Health and Safety Team on steering groups as required and will liaise directly with democratic bodies across the Partnership to ensure that you are aware of and responsive to Partner sentiment in particular around health and safety.
What will you be doing?
·
Influencing senior stakeholders across your areas of responsibility through both personal subject matter expertise and wider industry knowledge to drive change across all directorates to ensure that health and safety is key criteria for decision making.
·
Ensuring improvement programmes are targeted to all relevant business areas to this role.
·
Ensuring the appropriate governance is in place (including democratic channels) and chair groups where appropriate.
·
Identifying current and emerging safety issues. Develop plans to manage these trends and adapt our capability accordingly.
·
Working with the Awareness Partners to ensure that Leadership and Partners are aware of how to manage safety incidents and are upskilled in the importance of managing safety.
·
Crisis Management - Similar to other L6s in the team, you will deputise when required for the Health and Safety Lead.
Essential skills you’ll need:
·
Subject Matter Expertise in health, safety and safety quality management systems (ISO 45001)
·
NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent
·
ISO 45001 lead auditor certification
·
May hold or work towards either CMIOSH, MIIRSM or equivalent status.
·
Results orientated and comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organisation.
·
Externally networked and aware of industry trends
·
Previous experience working in retail and/or supply chain
Desirable skills you’ll have:
·
Project management qualification (eg. Prince 2).
·
Experience setting and implementing safety strategy
