About The Role

We are looking for a Media Sales and Planning Manager in the Commercial Retail Media profession working with Commercial and Customer Marketing experts to understand details of commercial agreements and the value of Client funds to be spent against internal assets, alongside creating and delivering a strategy to unlock new revenue from new business streams.

This key role will develop insight and data-led planning strategies for your larger brands to ensure spend is maximised against available inventory, delivering maximum return for both John Lewis and the brands and aligning spend ambitions with the customer plan to maximise the outcome for all parties.

You will support your senior manager to maximise client relationships, identify new client opportunities and deliver on your revenue targets. We are looking for candidates with commercial acumen, who can demonstrate collaborative working experience and who are excited to be part of a fast-paced and changing business area.

You will work closely with
Commercial business leads (incl. Buyers, Merchandisers, CPG's)
Pan Partnership Retail Media Strategy & Proposition team
Waitrose Retail Media sales team
Customer team
Marketing team to ensure to support the Profession.

Expected Salary   - £42,700 - £54,000 (dependant on experience)

Contract type - This position is a 12 month Secondment/Fixed Term contract 

· 
Working pattern/flexible working - We know flexible working is important to you, and it is important to us too. The Partnership has adopted a blended working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Retail Media Sales & Planning team aim for around 1 - 2 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings but again, are flexible on this.

Location - This role is based at our Pimlico Head Office campus. Please note, any cost incurred as a result of travel to the office is the responsibility of the successful candidate. There is no travel allowance for this role.

Key responsibilities

· 
Build relationships, proactively plan opportunities and negotiate with brands/clients to maximise retail media revenue

· 
Align client spend ambition and plans with Retail Media Strategy

· 
Work with JL Commercial teams to collate agreed commercial terms with brands to inform which negotiations must be prioritised and establish a plan for revenue opportunity incrementally. 

· 
Use Customer Insight and data to develop plans and best practice that improves the process for the brand, drives efficiency and captures more revenue 

· 
Build retail media sales strategy for the category vertical 

· 
Support the BTA process within Commercial by ensuring that sales and nominations are captured accurately.

· 
Embrace planning & sales strategy aligned to clear business goals

· 
Collaborate with John Lewis Customer Marketing  teams to align plans to Commercial and Brand  ambitions 

· 
Embraces new ways of working to improve efficiency in the booking process such as the Sales Enablement Tool 

· 
Support senior manager with the commercial forecasting process for Retail Media with Commercial teams to ensure alignment in the size of benefit available. 

· 
Support the BTA process within Commercial by ensuring that sales and nominations are captured accurately.

· 
Continuously engage with and actively contribute to your Profession

Take responsibility for actively engaging with change.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need

· 
Experience working directly with brands and agencies to help build out and sell Retail Media activation plans for brands. 

· 
Consultative Media Sales experience with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets. 

· 
Strong levels of stakeholder management - can influence vertically at all levels as well horizontally to deliver the best outcomes. 

· 
Ability to juggle competing business priorities 

Desirable skills/experience you may have

· 
Experience of using Insight to build out media activation plans to meet brand objectives. 

· 
Digitally savvy, with experience of selling Onsite Media solutions including Sponsored Products via ad tech platforms. 

· 
Experience of building new client outreach strategies
