About the role
We're looking for a Parts Technician to join our team at the John Lewis Partnership! This is an exciting opportunity to assist in the maintenance and management of our nationwide Garage Stores Network. You will be located in Bracknell and report to the National Compliance Parts Manager.

Official Partnership Title: Assistant Section Manager, Vehicle Maintenance
Position: Permanent
Location: On-site working at Bracknell with occasional visits to other workshops may be required; this can be discussed at the interview stage.
Hour of work: Full-time 37.5 hours. 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:

To assist in the procurement of parts nationally and to assist in the management of these agreements over time.

To assist the National compliance manager with the management of regulations, such as COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), regarding the stock holdings that are stocked in these garages
·
Managing the cost effectiveness of the spare parts stock holding within the Partnership Garage network, taking into account any legal or policy constraints, such as COSHH or OEM (Dealers' standards) quality of parts
·
To ensure that all goods, invoices and other received paperwork are recorded and that they correlate with the Advice Notes and Goods Received
·
To ensure that the correct parts are issued for work that is in progress.
·
To arrange quick and efficient supply of parts to minimise vehicle downtime by liaising with the workshop Section managers, Assistant Section managers, and external suppliers
Essential skills/experience you'll need:

Experience of working in a Commercial vehicle Garage environment
·
Good communicator
·
Basic computer skills
·
Key attention to details
Desirable skills/experience you may have
·
Intermediate Excel skills
·
Experience in working in a Commercial vehicle Parts department (vehicle spare parts purchasing and operation of Garage Parts operations)
·
Good negotiation skills
·
Good analytical skills
