About the role

We're seeking a Head of Credit Cards and Loans to grow John Lewis Money to the next level. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to develop their career while contributing to our growth.

The Head of Credit Cards & Loans is a key leadership role within the John Lewis Money Credit & Banking (C&B) value stream. The C&B value stream includes credit cards, loans, Point of Sale Credit, and foreign exchange propositions. C&B is one half of John Lewis Money, alongside Insurance.

As the Head of Credit Cards & Loans you will manage our key cards and loan products, current and future, including Credit Cards (almost 1 million customers) and growth areas like Personal Loans. This involves overseeing new product development, ensuring compelling customer propositions, and collaborating closely with third parties, including contract negotiations and ongoing performance management.

Key responsibilities

· 
Overseeing and managing trade performance, including monitoring key metrics, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to optimize profitability.

· 
Managing the P&L for Cards & Loans products to meet PBTBE targets, which includes budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial performance.

· 
Leading product development and enhancement, from ideation to launch, ensuring products meet customer needs and market demands.

· 
Working closely with the Operations & Performance team to ensure the operational performance of Cards & Loans products is robust.

· 
Collaborating closely with marketing teams to develop and execute effective campaigns that attract and retain customers, both new and existing.

· 
Staying informed on market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements through market research, industry analysis, and customer feedback.

· 
Managing relationships with third-party partners, including negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance.

· 
Delivering excellent customer outcomes by providing high-quality products and services, resolving complaints promptly, and exceeding expectations.

· 
Ensuring regulatory compliance by staying up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, implementing policies and procedures, and completing mandatory training.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need

· 
Leadership experience in product managing a range of credit card and loan products

· 
Experience in people and cross-functional stakeholder management

· 
Proven ability to manage a significant P&L and multi-million-pound contracts and third parties

· 
Skilled in delivering within a complex organization with competing priorities

· 
Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders

Desirable skills/experience you may have

· 
Deep experience in credit card product management for a mid-sized or large financial institution would be desirable
