Description

We are reinventing our business for the modern retail world. Our Strategy area for the Partnership will ensure that all of our customer data and insights are used to define where we’ll play, how we’ll win and what we prioritise to ensure that the strategic direction of our business is clear and unambiguous. We are looking for a Data Scientist who can work across teams, is self motivated and strives for continuous improvement.

What's the role about?

The core of this role is to help the Partnership make insight-driven, better informed, customer-centric decisions. In order to do this, you will need to work closely with teams across the Partnership, getting close to their world; hearing their problems and spotting the opportunities to improve things. You will use your analytical mindset and knowledge of the customer to improve the speed and quality of decision making.

In light of the current situation, this role will temporarily involve a mixture of working from home as well as in the office environment. Therefore it’s key that you have access to a suitable working environment if at home, away from any distractions and your own secure wifi connection.

What will you be doing?

Within our Insight profession you will look at data in an effective way, including a broad range of approaches including AI. You will generate value for the business through the delivery of innovative and robust statistical algorithms and tools across the Partnership. You will deliver complex data modelling in order to deliver true actionable insight and results for the business and use your deep expertise in optimisation to bring new ideas to life.

What you will have

·  BSc, Mathematics, Statistics, or related
·  Python and relevant libraries (pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, etc)
·  Solid SQL skills
·  Command-line terminals and Linux Operating Systems
·  Git version control
·  Cloud Computing (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
·  Applied statistics
·  Highly analytical mindset with problem solving attitude
·  Experience with data visualisation and graphical presentation of key messages and concepts
·  Good communication skills, and ability to work across functional teams

Machine learning techniques (supervised and unsupervised learning, natural language processing, neural networks, Bayesian statistics, time-series forecasting)

Implementation of end-to-end Machine Learning solutions and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)

Elasticsearch and associated tech-stack

AB testing methodologies and analysis

Retail and ecommerce

Agile Methodologies
