Role: Bracknell Transport LGV1 Driver

Position: Permanent

Working Hours: Working hours are 47.5 hours work per week which is made up of 37.5 contracted hours and 10 hours consolidated overtime, paid at time and a half. Shift premium, 20% AM and PM, working days are 5 out of 7 on a rotational basis. Various shifts available.

Rate of Pay: Starting from £13.71 an hour.

Please note: The interviews will be on site followed directly by a Driving Assessment. Candidates must have C+E entitlement.

About the Role:

As a LGV1 Driver you will promote the Partnership brand through a professional and courteous manner towards other road users whilst delivering to our network of shops, service buildings and distribution centres. Delivering to key performance indicators (KPI) whilst ensuring the customer receives unrivalled service. To embrace vehicle telematics and vehicle types as you strive to deliver savings to support the wider business.

Drivers are accountable for ensuring all duties are performed in a safe manner, with an awareness of individual responsibility for health and safety at all times. Drivers in the Partnership are required to pay full attention to, and work within, the laws and rules relating to driving LGV vehicles. This includes driver hours regulations, speed limits and other rules as outlined in the Highway code, Partnership Transport Partners Handbook and the Drivers training pack.

We will expect you to go the extra mile in everything you do, from maintaining high standards of professional driving to showing flexibility in your approach to the role.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the relevant regulations, and will be expected to pass the driver assessment as part of their application.

Job Requirements:

The role would suit someone who has a strong customer focus, enjoys delivering a great service and thrives on meeting agreed targets. Your Performance and Productivity will drive your Pay and Progression here at Waitrose & Partners. It is not unusual to work from midnight to midday even prior to a rest period, please take this into consideration before applying or accepting a position with us.

Complete all branch/RDC deliveries and supplier collections within the given timescales.

· 
Complete all daily vehicle checks and follow correct defect reporting procedures.

· 
To complete documentation accurately.

· 
Operate the vehicle in a safe and economical manner at all times ensuring that it is maintained in a clean and tidy state.

· 
Effectively communicate problems and delays to all relevant parties.

· 
Safely loading and unloading whilst complying with the correct procedures for given location.

· 
Maintain a full knowledge of the Highway code, WTD, EU Drivers Hours Regulations and vehicle operations.

· 
To ensure all Legal, Health and Safety legislation and Operational procedures are adhered to at all times and to work within Health and Safety guidelines at all times ensuring the safety of self and others.

· 
To work within other areas / departments within the RDC as requested by Management.

· 
To ensure all Personnel procedures are adhered to and completed as required.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

· 
Valid UK LGV1 C + E driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).

· 
Valid DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card).

· 
Valid Tachograph Card.

· 
Previous experience driving a 44 tonne articulated lorry

Desirable Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

· 
Previous experience in a retail distribution environment.
