What’s the role about?

We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Treasury team as Assistant Treasurer. You will be part of an agile and high performing of eight Partners, where you are very much encouraged to bring yourself to work each and every day. 

This year the Treasury & Corporate Finance team was at the forefront of the Partnership’s financial response to Covid-19 adding almost half a billion pounds of new liquidity as well as providing expert treasury and funding advice in relation to our strategic review. The Partnership Plan, a new 5 year strategic plan, was announced in October 2020 and sets out an exciting new chapter in the Partnership's 100 year history. The Treasury & Corporate Finance team will be central to building upon a strong and flexible financial platform, whether that’s managing record levels of liquidity (~£2 billion) or getting involved in refinancing our bank facilities - there is always plenty to get involved in. We can promise you one thing, you will not be bored!

In the role you will report to and deputise for the Head of Treasury & Corporate Finance. You will take a lead role in supporting, coaching and developing the Treasury & Corporate Finance team. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the management of the key financial risks faced by the Partnership, employing suitable risk management strategies that both protect and add value. You will lead or assist with funding and refinancing activities, ensuring financial covenant headroom is sufficient and well managed. As well as providing expert advice to the business on a broad range of Treasury matters, including financial market exposures and working capital impacts.

Please note, the team is currently working from home, however this role can be based in either Victoria or Bracknell, candidates must be able to travel to the other location when required. This role will be known internally as Deputy Head of Treasury. This vacancy closes at 00:01 on the 17th December (evening of the 16th).

 

What will you be doing?

- Overseeing Treasury operations and the management of financial risks, including liquidity, counterparty credit, FX, interest rates, inflation and commodities

- Leading or assisting funding and refinancing activities. Monitor and manage financial covenant headroom

- Building and maintaining relationships with banking partners

- Defining Treasury Policy, leading Treasury risk reporting and Treasury aspects of accounting including review of Treasury notes to the financial statements, Going Concern & Viability Statement

 - You'll have the opportunity to get involved in other activities such as Pension Risk Management and Debt Investor Relations

- Empowering and supporting Partners to make decisions and resolve challenges.

- You'll be a people manager to the Manager, Treasury & Corporate Finance

- Owning business processes, frameworks and tools within your area, continuously improving them to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

- Leverage insight and internal and external networks to keep abreast of key customer requirements, market conditions and trends, including technological advancements. 

What you'll have

· 
Significant broad Treasury experience in a large corporate / banking environment

· 
Association of Corporate Treasurers (AMCT) qualification 

· 
Managing and developing a professional Treasury team with a proven track record in resolving operational treasury issues

· 
Experience negotiating and executing committed bank facility agreements. DCM experience is desirable but not essential.

· 
Leading the creation of presentations and papers for the Board & Executive Team

· 
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex topics effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels

· 
Strong attention to detail with a critical mindset
