Duties & Responsibilities

As a Buyer for Waitrose & Partners you and your category POD will be working closely with suppliers to deliver distinctive branded and own label ranges aligned to our customer strategy and which deliver commercial success. This is all part of working at the heart of a sustainable and thriving Partnership that's fit for the future. You should be highly organised and analytical with exceptional communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

With some commercial experience, you would be working alongside an experienced Buyer, but also have buying responsibility for your own category. If you are passionate about a commercial career in the Partnership, we would love to hear from you.

Job Requirements

- Build annual Demand Category plans by merging Category Strategy direction sheet and Trade Planning, supplier brand plans, category data and insight and customer insight 
- Provide accurate forecasts and costed options for change to inform Customer & Trade Plans 
- Deliver the Customer Plan through Category Plans 
- Deliver target sales and profit 
- Own the supplier strategy and selection supporting delivery of Corporate Social Responsibility and Brand objectives 
- Own the commercial relationships between Waitrose and suppliers 
- Ensure the correct master range assortment is in place 
- Day to day management of the assortment 
- Negotiate with suppliers to increase margin deliver
