Your Responsibilities

Do you like to dig into the details of how a feature is developed and have the technical acumen to understand enough to develop a detailed test plan?  If so, this job is for you!  Our team is working on new features for a touchscreen display that is factory-installed in the cab of all John Deere Agriculture equipment.  As a Software Verification Champion , for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale) , you will join the Gen4 CI Development team of developers and an automation engineer.

How You’ll Spend Your Day - #LifeatDeere

·  Gaining information for better understanding of customer needs for a feature and working with the Agile Software Delivery team to ensure the software meets those needs
·  Working with a global team (Urbandale and India) to establish holistic verification plan
·  Setting Automation strategy and working with the Software Development team and Automation Engineer to implement for assigned features
·  Establishing the test plans to be executed by the global test team as features transition to production

What Skills You Need

·  Experience with Software engineering, systems engineering, test engineering, or requirements engineering experience requiring test documentation, execution and reporting
·  Passion for understanding how our customers use features
·  Ability to logically break down a complex feature/problem and clearly document the path to resolution
·  Experience working in a team environment with cross-functional teams
·  Willingness to perform on-vehicle testing at test farm
·  Ability to climb in and out of farm equipment
·  Understanding of Agile Development
·  Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
·  Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations

What Makes You Stand Out

·  Experience working with Perception or Autonomous Systems
·  Experience with Python, software development and test automation
·  Writing Unit Tests, Test Driven and Acceptance Test Driven Development
·  Writing code using C++, C, Linux
·  Automated guidance system operation and function experience
·  Developing software at John Deere (ideally Gen4 display experience)
·  Working with Precision Agriculture practices

Education (or equivalent work experience)

·  Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or Technology related discipline
