Your Responsibilities

As an Electronic Design Engineer at John Deere Electronic Solutions located in Fargo, ND, you will design, modify and evaluate electronic products for use in rugged environments to meet quality, delivery and cost goals. In addition, you will:

·  Plan, coordinate and perform requirements capture, design concepting, detailed worst case analog and digital circuit analysis, simulation, integration and verification for projects moderate in scope
·  Select components based on analysis of specifications and reliability
·  Operate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews
·  May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors
·  Execute high level design solutions to more complex problems
·  Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions for electronic assemblies to improve cost, quality and performance based on electronic design knowledge of engineering applications together with the involvement of manufacturing, mechanical, software and other functional engineers, supply management and supplier personnel
·  Create, analyze, read and understand technical requirements written by others to determine the best technical solution for complex problems or projects of moderate scope
·  Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel
·  Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations
·  Develop and/or execute test or analysis plan for product verification and validation

What Skills You Need

·  1 or more years experience in electronic circuit design
·  Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
·  Experience independently evaluating, selecting, and applying of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out engineering tasks
·  Experience technically comprehending microprocessor-based embedded electronic, software, and mechanical packaging designs and requirements
·  Ability to adapt electronic circuitry to vehicle and/or fixed equipment applications
·  Experience making preliminary selections or adaptations of engineering alternatives
·  Experience technically comprehending testing, manufacturing, quality control, and marketing requirements
·  Experience directing the work of aides or technicians
·  Experience interfacing with customers with guidance from supervisor

What Makes You Stand Out

·  Experience with designing to harsh environmental specifications
·  Interest and/or experience with power electronics for a variety of DC voltage levels (up to 1000 Vdc) and power levels (up to 50 kW)
·  System knowledge of hybrid vehicles
·  Experience in power electronics design for motor controls
·  Experience in power electronics design for DC-DC converters
·  Experience with Pspice or other circuit simulation tools
·  Experience with MathCAD
·  Experience with Mentor Graphics or other schematic capture tools
·  Experience with 8, 16 or 32 bit micro controllers

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
