Title: Drivetrain Controls Engineer - 54233
Your Responsibilities
As a Drivetrain Controls Engineer for John Deere Power Systems located in Coffeyville, KS, you will plan, design, implement and verify embedded application software. In addition, you will:
· Gather customer requirements and define specifications for complex control projects
· Perform dynamic system and sub-system simulations
· Develop, troubleshoot, and validate embedded solutions virtually, on vehicles, and Hardware-in-the-Loop systems
· Provide mentoring to other new group members
· Provide tech support to marketing, manufacturing, quality, and supply management
· Gather customer requirements, formulate a concept, model the concept, simulate the system and optimize it, generate embedded code, program embedded hardware, develop and optimize on HiL systems, develop and optimize on vehicles, and finally validate performance through testing

What Skills You Need
· 2 or more years of industry experience in electronic controls applications for engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, or heavy-duty vehicle systems
· Demonstrated proficiency with the C programming language, software development tools, and Model-Based Software Design (MBSD) utilizing the MATLAB toolchain
· Experience with the John Deere Operating System (JDOS), AUTOSAR, or similar embedded controller operating systems
· Experience interpreting and contributing to electrical and electronic hardware designs and schematics
· Knowledge of SAE J1939 communications
What Makes You Stand Out
· Proficient with system modeling tools such as AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, EASY5, LabVIEW, or similar
· A strong electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic system acumen
· Proficient in linear controls theory
· Knowledge of Agile software design processes and the John Deere Embedded Software Delivery Process (ESDP)
· Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification
· Master’s Degree in Computer, Control Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Bachelor's degree in Computer, Control Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
