Title: Control Systems Engineer - 60710 

Your Responsibilities

As a Control Systems Engineer working for John Deere Construction & Forestry Division, located in Dubuque, IA you will design electro-hydraulic control algorithms and architectures to implement automation with new sensing technologies. In addition, you will:

·  Prioritize and guide the implementation of these algorithms
·  Resolve complex technical challenges related to hydraulic automation control systems
·  Support development of robust system diagnostics
·  Be responsible for algorithm design from concept development through implementation and product launch
·  Utilize Enterprise best practices to develop closed-loop system simulations and employ algorithm verification techniques
·  Contribute to cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert in control development
·  Contribute to robust test environment for model in the loop and system in the loop testing
·  Provide technical support during system testing activities and field issues on an as needed basis

What Skills You Need

·  Experience in control simulation and model-based software development (MBSD)
·  Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
·  Strong, demonstrated problem solving skills
·  Excellent communication and teamwork skills
·  Ability and experience working in a self-directed mode
·  Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%, potentially including China

What Makes You Stand Out

·  Experience with GNSS systems & inertial sensors (IMUs, gyros, accelerometers)
·  Experience developing and implementing plant models and/or controls solutions for electro-hydraulic or electro-mechanical control systems in a production environment
·  Controls-related coursework
·  Embedded software development experience
·  Experience with embedded C/C++ development
·  Experience with construction or agricultural machines or similar industry
·  Experience with CAN communications protocol and the J1939 standards
·  Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems in an automotive or off-road setting
·  An advanced engineering degree

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering
