Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·  Perform shipping and receiving duties.
·  Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
·  Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
·  Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
·  Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
·  Required to forward a requisition for shipping materials to the Department Supervisor for approval.
·  Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
·  Deliver packages in a timely fashion, and to appropriate end users, while obtaining signature for receipt of delivery.
·  Pick-up and delivery of mail services included
·  Cleaning & Storage management of shipping containers
·  Daily monitoring of the Allocation Shipping Schedule
·  Cleaning GMP shipping containers per SOP guidelines
·  Inventory control of shipping containers
·  Non-Hazardous Waste, Drums & Plastics management
·  Receipt & delivery of fiber drums and liners with appropriate charge outs to inventory system
·  Coordination of Waste & Plastic pick up and removal
·  Document Destruction & Storage
·  Deliver and pick up confidential bins as needed
·  Witness of document destruction services performed on a monthly basis
·  Office Moves & Work Order Management
·  Perform weekly personnel office moves as scheduled
·  Perform customer move and disposal requests submitted to work order management systems in a timely fashion, while adhering to target metrics

·  Fork Lift Operations
·  Safely moving goods packed on pallets or in crates, furniture, machinery, or equipment around the facility as requested, ensuring loads are secure, and stacked properly at all times
·  Stacking empty pallets for staging, disposal, ect.
·  Empty, replace and maneuver dumpsters as needed
·  Overall
·  Respond effectively to all emergencies
·  Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas, while recognizing dangerous or unsafe hazards in a timely fashion and proposing methods to eliminate them
·  Observe and comply with quality, environment, health and safety procedures.
·  Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment used.
·  Perform assigned facility and equipment inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
·  Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
·  Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
·  Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
·  Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·  Strong Computer skills with experience with Microsoft office
·  Team player, and hard worker with good interpersonal skills
·  Excellent customer service skills.
·  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
·  Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
·  For internal candidates, must consistently receive a “meets expectations” job performance review.

 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·  High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable
·  At least one year working in BioPharma or Pharmaceutical industry or similar industry preferred.
·  3+ years of relevant experience as forklift operator.  Valid certification, or ability to obtain using in house training resources,  to operate forklifts per OSHA standards

QUALIFICATIONS

·  A high degree of accuracy is required for handling sensitive equipment and proper routing of shipments
·  Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation.
·  Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.
·  Ability to lift 60 lbs repeatedly.

 
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

·  Valid NY State Driver’s License
·  DOT & IATA Certifications-preferred at hire, but must obtain within 3 months of start using in house training resources
