Stationary Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity in Romulus, MI for a licensed Stationary Engineer/Operating Engineer to join our facilities team!

If you have a stationary engineers license and experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems in an industrial facility, we want to talk to you!

Job Description:

·  Performs preventive maintenance on all building and critical system equipment
·  Baseline knowledge of WWTP functions. Ultra Filtration knowledge preferred.
·  Installs and repairs plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors; run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.; install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild industrial air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls; assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment
·  Monitors operation and maintains refrigeration, industrial chilled water and air conditioning equipment; industrial high-pressure boilers, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; recording readings as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions
·  Must be able to identify and prioritize major and critical alarms, and must respond to them by taking the necessary measures, as well as to document these measures.
·  Check and monitor the emergency generators during power outages.
·  Physical surroundings are noisy, hot, and highly stressful. S/he can expect to encounter multiple interruptions during the work day.

Qualifications:

·  A very high percentage of “wrench time” is expected in this role. Must demonstrate technical expertise in building/industrial maintenance & troubleshooting and be multi-skilled in other areas to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.
·  Must be available 'on call' after hours for emergencies
·  Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation.
·  Candidates with a Journeyman rating are preferred
·  Troubleshooting and repairing equipment in a heavy industrial setting
·  Universal CFC Certificate preferred.
·  Must be proficient with information systems (email, automated building systems, operator control panels etc.).
