Role Purpose

We are looking for someone to be responsible for day-to-day planning activities on a major project in Saudi Arabia.

What this job involves

Programme (Schedule) Management:

·  Maintaining the schedule baselines and ensure project control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance.
·  Working closely with the client, sub consultants and main contractors.
·  Review overall project status with the Project Management team and recommend corrective action where necessary.
·  Use a clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues and are able to communicate solutions in an effective, efficient, high level manner.
·  Coordinating and managing multiple stakeholders and demonstrate the ability to build robust, long term relationships and integrated teams.
·  In conjunction with the Project Manager establish project planning process and procedure to include within the PEP (Project Execution Plan)
·  Assure integration of sub-schedules from all parties (functions, subdivisions) involved in the projects.
·  Challenge all inputs from all parties assuring alignment to the Projects programme objectives, critical path and key milestones.
·  Tracks and reports progress against the baseline schedule and continuously monitors risks and opportunities as well as proactively develops scenarios, mitigation or back-up plans required.
·  Report on schedule progress inclusive of contractual spend utilising reporting metrics including EV (earned value) and PV (planned value) and deviations within all functions and parties involved in the project
·  The Project Planner produces schedule-related KPI's as required by the project.

Programme (Schedule) Change Control:

·  Sit as an important member of the Change Control Board providing delay analysis with appropriate recovery strategies in coordination with affected and responsible parties inclusive of Design team and Contractor.
·  Ensure that schedule implications of changes are assessed in detail providing the Project manager reliable intelligence in order to exercise are made visible and clear prior to decisions to being presented to the Project Change Control Board
·  Ensure that the Project Management team is regularly updated with possible threats or opportunity derived from present or future deviations to the schedule.

Stakeholder Management and Engagement:

·  Lead meetings related to the schedule and its associated process and procedure
·  Manage, with the support of all Project Team members, the effective communication to all functions of their duties and responsibilities in the execution of the schedule.

·  P6 trained with minimum 5 years utilising this software
·  Earned Value (EV) and Planned Value (PV) Reporting expert, able to cost load to a detailed WBS to enable financial reporting against programme and coordination with contracted terms and conditions.
·  Degree Qualification is preferred but not essential.
·  Professional Memberships are an advantage but not essential.
·  Extensive experience in role of a planning manager in the construction industry
·  Major international project experience is essential.
·  Must have experience in mixed use / commercial projects
·  Excellent written and verbal skills with a fluent proficiency in English.
