Job description
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Mailroom Clerk to perform receiving and sorting incoming mail and/or packages to distribute to other departments or individuals. Stock coffee supplies in break rooms. Monitor printer services. There will be times that the Mailroom Clerk can be assigned other duties to assist the Facilities Service teams.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities
Sort and collate mail
Dispose of junk mail
Sort mail, such as returned letters, adjustments, bills, orders and payments
Resolve issues with incorrect, returned mail
Receive outgoing mail and apply correct postage
Arrange for pickup of outgoing mail
Record registered mail
Place mail in proper buckets for distribution
Process outgoing shipments (Fed-Ex, UPS, DHL and USPS)
Weigh mail to determine correct postage
Place mail in metal bins and carry to departments for distribution
Ensure office is adequately stocked with mail supplies
Stock copy rooms and printing devices
Clean and service copy machines
Organize and replenish break rooms with coffee supplies
Walk facility once a week and log work orders for torn carpet, damaged ceiling tiles, etc.
Provide reception relief as needed
Any and all other duties and tasks assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent
1 to 2 years of related experience required
Must be reliable and professional
Self-motivated, organized, and strong time management skills
Ability to spend much of the day on his/her feet. Must be able to work quickly with hands and have good hand/eye coordination
Regularly lift, move and/or carry up to 10 pounds; frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift, move and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
