Job Description Summary

JLL is seeking a Lab Services Sr Associate to join our team. This position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at a client site. This role provides a wide variety of support services to the client’s research laboratories including laboratory logistics and management, inventory management, waste stream management, freezer management, glass washing and autoclaving, equipment moves, bulk chemical delivery and gas systems, and laboratory moves. The successful candidate will be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and a team player attitude. Work schedules provided to the Lab Services Sr Associate is subject to change by operations management. Both written procedures and verbal instructions will be executed with strict attention to safety and quality. Accurate and timely execution of activities and results are a requirement. Strict adherence to federal, state and local regulations are required. Collaborative work with other employees is a necessity to achieve departmental and company goals. Work will require working in laboratory areas using established procedures

Essential Functions

·  Proactively perform lab services scope of work for the account, implementing client standard processes and procedures, ensuring superior customer satisfaction, sustaining a safe work environment and demonstrating productivity.
·  Manages scientific staff’s requirements and concerns pertaining to Laboratory Services and acts as contact to the research departments for Lab Support scope of work and vendor management.
·  Service and support laboratory glassware needs; collecting, transporting and machine washing or autoclaving labware and glassware including fragile and specialty items. Ensure that there are no interruptions, disruptions, or losses arising from unscheduled downtime of client services. Systems operations and maintenance must be safe, reliable, and economical.
·  Initiates work orders for facilities and laboratories.
·  Conducts assigned safety, environmental, and other required inspections/audits of departmental facilities. Ensures that appropriate documentation is submitted and takes prompt action to correct conditions found to be out of compliance or unsafe.
·  Perform weekly eyewash/safety shower testing throughout the facility.
·  Responsible for evaluating area operations and implementing new procedures in order to improve efficiency and/or safe work practices.
·  Assists in facilitation of project coordination, move support, and internal work orders scheduling and completion per client specifications.
·  Escorting vendors within the site with adherence to client EHS requirements and practices.
·  Meet all safety and other compliance requirements in execution of all work, escalate risks throughout the organization appropriately.
·  Perform weekly collection and transport of hazardous waste to designated storage areas, weighs Regulated Medical Waste boxes, and completes the required documentation.
·  Manage site lab coat service, responsibilities include sizing and ordering of new garments, monitoring inventory, monitoring vendors performance and addressing issues reported by end users.
·  Develop and manage vendor performed R&D equipment service contracts.  Coordinate with vendors to complete PMs and emergency service of various lab equipment with emphasis on reduced of downtime and quality workmanship.
·  Manage lab consumable program.  Responsibilities includes maintaining Point of Use Service, moving materials from stockroom to POU locations.  Ensure appropriate stock levels, generate new orders and obtain end users approval to remove or add items to POU. 
·   Support shipping team with receiving, sorting, delivery and shipping packages as needed.
·  Willingness to learn additional skills and grow within the Operations department.
·  Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.

Required Knowledge, skills, and abilities

·  Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
·  Must be a team player, committed to customer service with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to present information in a clear and concise manner.
·  Ability to manage and perform scheduled work while accommodating non-routine requests in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
·  Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation.
·  Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.
·  This role entails frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying materials and equipment

Education and Experience Qualifications

·  Two-year degree, scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience.
·  Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in the biopharma space.
·  Experience working with general lab equipment, such as cold rooms, incubators, water bath and controlled temperature units.
·  DOT, IATA, HAZWOPER certification preferred.

The job involves field work requiring frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or less
