What this job involves

Broadly, the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the business to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) policies and regulations.

Regulations applicable to estate agency require due diligence on both buyer and seller. The analyst will work closely with deal teams and fee earning directors to capture, document and verify the identity of all relevant parties, individuals, and entities using a variety of research sources. Information that is collected facilitates assessment of risk factors so that a decision can be made to proceed or decline a client.

An analyst is also expected to liaise with clients, counterparties and their representatives, agents, lawyers and advisors. She/he will carry out PEP, Sanctions and adverse media screening; ensure that other AML activities are performed timely and issues are addressed appropriately, timely, and escalated as required.  

She/he is expected to be familiar with commercially available AML and other digital tools, as well as CRM platforms.

·  Ability to organise and analyse complex data sets
·  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
·  Must be able to easily grasp and comprehend AML risks specific to estate agency / real property investment business, perform appropriate  due diligence on clients and counterparties and advise the business accordingly
·  Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
·  Undergraduate degree or higher required
·  Successful candidate must be detail-oriented and understand responsibilities around confidential information.
·  At least two years’ experience in compliance function in financial services or real estate agency business.
·  Working knowledge of evaluating complex company and/or property ownership structures to determine ultimate beneficial owner(s)
·  Experience of developing, testing or using data mining/analytical tools and KYC automated solutions would be an asset
·  Familiarity with AML issues and suspicious transaction / sanctions monitoring systems
·  Detailed working knowledge of understanding, researching and addressing sanctions-related issues and alerts.
