JLL Technologies aligns JLL’s technology and digital initiatives while accelerating innovation in commercial real estate for our investor and occupier clients. We are currently seeking a General Counsel for our rapidly growing JLL Technologies platform. The position will focus on providing strategic legal counseling to internal product, operations and client-facing teams in order to identify and mitigate global legal risk. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing legal team in an exciting, fast-paced tech focused environment.

This strategic leadership role is based in our San Francisco, CA office and reports directly to JLL’s Global Chief Legal Officer while serving as the chief legal advisor to the co-CEO’s of JLL Technologies.

The Responsibilities

·  Analyze products, policies, and initiatives to provide legal risk mitigation strategies across the JLL Technologies platform
·  Drive a culture of change and innovation including but not limited to: implementing new processes; integrating new technology solutions; participating in cross border transformation initiatives; and building center of excellences
·  Serve as a trusted legal advisor and point of contact to the global JLL Technologies executive leadership team
·  Provide effective guidance to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk exposure, taking into consideration both financial and reputable business impacts
·  Provide expert and strategic legal advice to senior management on all legal based matters across the global JLL Technologies business 
·  Assist the Global Chief Legal Officer to embed and maintain effective internal governance policies and processes related to legal compliance in all countries that we operate in 
·  Work to anticipate legal issues or potential risks to the business, estimating risks and making appropriate strategic recommendations 
·  Keep abreast of legislative changes and proactively making recommendations for policy changes required to protect the JLL Technologies businesses 
·  Establish position and effectively negotiate with external parties where required on legal-based business matters 
·  Work with the business to protect the Intellectual Property of the JLL Technology division 
·  Provide training to the business in relation to legal and risk issues 
·  Ensure that the Company’s compliance programs are embedded and effective

The Requirements

·  J.D. degree and membership in at least on U.S. state bar
·  8+ years of legal experience—at law firm or in-house corporate experience
·  Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously
·  Experience collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams to get the job done
·  Experience managing diverse high functioning teams
