Jones Lang LaSalle is engaged to provide IFM services across HSBC’s 41m square foot portfolio spanning 45 countries in 3 Regions (Americas, APAC and EMEA).  The HSBC contract represents JLL’s largest facility management assignment in terms of both square feet and fees earned.

The B.I Analyst will work as part of the Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence to develop innovative analytical solutions that support the account to maximise compliance, increase productivity whilst minimising costs and maximizing profit.

The BI Centre of Excellence has a well established commitment to continuous learning and innovation and as such the job holder will be expected to embrace the Tableau and Alteryx external communities, to ensure their skills are constantly evolving and they embrace new analytical techniques and functionality within our core BI products.

As the account’s use of data and analytics matures, so will the tools and platforms the account uses for Business Intelligence. The B.I will be expected to support the development of analytical Proof of Concepts to demonstrate the potential return on investment and then to transform Proof of Concepts into sustainable processes that can be adopted by the account and can be shared across JLL. This will be done as part of the wider BI Centre of Excellence, ensuring any developed solutions are documented and embedded within the operating framework of the team, including leveraging the account’s governed data architecture models.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The person will be accountable for building effective analytical products, being able to transform transactional data into meaningful business insights. 

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled individual, being able to demonstrate strong data visualisation skills, from design thinking through to creative solutions.

In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to embrace new techniques and technology, taking a high-level business requirement and working in partnership with external experts to develop solutions from conceptual models, through to actual proof of concepts and finally sustainable business as usual solutions.

They will be required to work at pace, using agile working methodology that enables an iterative approach to project delivery.

Whilst a strong technical knowledge is essential it is equally important the candidate can integrated alongside existing B.I staff, both sharing their knowledge with, and learning from, other analysts on the account and wider across the JLL B.I community.

The candidate will support the account’s vision that;

Data is Governed:

·  Analytical solutions should be based upon data that is defined and documented based upon business rules and consistent ways of working.
·  When solutions are placed into production the underlying data should be transformed to ensure it complies with the account’s Data Architecture strategy; data being defined and structured once through relational models, but then used multiple times through published Tableau Data Sources.

Data is Accessible:

·  Solutions should be accessible to the business users, ensuring the benefits of analytics are realised and a measurable return on investment achieved.
·  Analytics developed by the B.I Analyst should be implemented in partnership with the Business Partnering Team who will be responsible for supporting the business users to identify actionable business insights from the data.

Operational processes are Efficient:

·  Through the knowledge and expertise of the B.I Analyst the efficiency of the account’s analytics should be maximised, ensuring Dashboards are developed using industry leading techniques and constantly referencing best practice identified through the BI community.
·  Solution approaches and underlying design processes must be shared across all members of the B.I Centre of Excellence.

Innovative Analytical Techniques are enabled:

·  The account’s use of B.I should always be seeking innovative and new techniques that drive increased efficiency and savings through effective utilisation of data.

The outcome of the B.I Analyst should be informed business decisions and planning, based on insightful analytics. Every deliverable of the role should be able to demonstrate a measurable return on investment and improved outcomes for the client.

Major responsibilities:

·  Complete the technical development of B.I initiatives, ensuring constant communication and partnership with the BIT Initiative Owner.

·  Translate complex requirements into effective business solutions.

·  Be an active member of the internal and external B.I communities to ensure continuous personal learning and knowledge sharing with other members of the B.I Centre of Excellence.

·  Ensuring iterative design processes are followed, providing regular feedback and engagement to the business.

·  Actively participating in feedback to other analysts with respect to the development of new initiatives.

Desirable Knowledge & Capabilities:

·  A BI expert with knowledge of data visualisation and analytical techniques.

·  Bring global experience and best practice to bust silos and ensure effective utilisation of data.

·  Proven examples of having utilised Tableau and Alteryx to develop innovative solutions to complex requirements.

·  Demonstrates an ability to learn new techniques and tools, as and when identified, for example predictive modelling.

·  Communication - Excellent presentation skills (verbal and written), Strong understanding of analytic/statistical concepts with the ability to explain them to others.

·  Strategic Thinking - Ability to think broadly, create a shared vision, and embrace change as an opportunity.

·  Client Management - Understanding client needs and setting and managing appropriate client expectations within system, project, or contract constraints all while providing exceptional and customer service, creating trust and transparency which enables integration

·  Team-building -Key stakeholder and collaborators are geographically dispersed. Getting results from ad hoc groups of disparate people is critical.

·  Experience of agile methodology.

Reporting relationships

The B.I Analyst will report directly to the Global Director of Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence on the HSBC Account.

Direct reports

None, however the B.I Analyst will be expected to knowledge share and support both personal continuous learning and that of peers within the B.I Centre of Excellence.
