POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technology Lead supports the scientific applications in Non Clinical safety, which requires a deep understanding of the business processes and scientific needs from a data perspective but also requires some level of IT background to remediate technology issues or needs.
This person also needs to have good communication skills as he/she will communicate actively with the scientists and IT teams.
As part of the Data Sciences team you will first be trained within the V.I.E program for 6 months in Belgium allowing you to understand the business processes and the mission of the Non Clinical Safety department. We will learn you how the scientific systems are working which will help you to prepare yourself when moving to the United States, one position is foreseen in the Springhouse (East Coast) site and the other position in La Jolla (West Coast).
Duration of the V.I.E mission:
- 6 months in Belgium
- then 18 months in the USA (maximum period within the J1 Trainee visa).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your scientific and IT knowledge in a global organization in the heart of drug development and safety evaluation of a compound and play an important role in improving study execution, reporting and data analysis
- Connecting with internal customers (scientists) to understand their business requirements
- Shape systems to support evolving scientific needs
- Develop proposals to connect data from different sources to build better data insights
- Support the business in resolving technology issues and needs
- Guide scientists on how to setup their studies and assays, safeguarding consistent end to end data flows
- Safeguard data integrity and data traceability optimizations and guidance
PROFILE:
A seasoned IT person with interest in science or a scientist with interest in IT and data sciences who likes to connect and work with the scientists to improve the end to end data workflow.
1. Eligibility Criteria:
? Master Degree in either:
- Informatics
- Chemistry, biomedical, biology.
? Interest in IT technology and data sciences
? Good communication skills
? Strives for harmonization and consensus.
? Global collaboration mindset
? Good written and oral language skills (fluent in English).
2. Previous professional experience:
? Significant (1-2 years) experience in a drug discovery environment is a plus
? Data sciences/data visualization tools (eg Spotfire), python is a plus.
? Ability to communicate effectively
