Today, our legal affairs department located near Brussels in Belgium, is looking for a candidate with good understanding of contracting, for a V.I.E. internship for a period of up to two years. In such role, you will become part of the Law Department to provide support to our legal and procurement organizations, and will be located in Diegem (Brussels) Belgium.
Poste et missions:
Junior legal counsel position for providing general legal support to the Supply Chain and Procurement Law Department. This position is a temporary position (2 years) and offered as a V.I.E. internship in Belgium, Brussels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will support the company under the guidance of the Supply Chain and Procurement lawyers, with developing contracts and templates and with supporting on projects in an international context, in a broad range of technical and legal fields. In relation to your support of our procurement organizations you will e.g. be working on:
- Providing legal analysis of existing templates
- Drafting of templates and contracts
- Advising on interpretation of existing agreements
- Advising on negotiations of agreements
- Establishing and implementing education and training related to newly developed templates or other legal training needs
- Interacting with other J&J attorneys in Europe supporting procurement colleagues in their functional domain(s)
- Liaising with external legal advisers / outside counsel
- Providing support on procurement related matters
- Providing legal support on projects
Duties may evolve depending on the needs of the law department as well as on the experience and skills of the candidate.
Profil:
A junior lawyer, preferably as an in-house counsel or in a law firm. Your excellent knowledge of contract law is underpinned by strong communication skills and the ability to influence and work collaboratively at all levels and functions in an organization.
1. Eligibility Criteria:
- Master Degree in Law (general or juriste d’entreprise).
- Good understanding of contract law and the civil code
- Good written and oral language skills (fluent in English + French).
- Microsoft Office and Powerpoint technical skills: ability in using, including ability to work with tracked changes and versions control in word documents, and prepare presentations in PowerPoint.
2. Previous professional experience:
- first experience as trainee or actual employee/ collaborator in a private company’s legal department or in law firm supporting corporate clients.
- Experience in Contract Drafting
- Ability to independently create legal clauses and letters (English/French).
- Ability to communicate effectively
3. Having knowledge of the healthcare or consumer sector is a plus.
4. Having knowledge of other language skills other then French and English is a plus.
