What to expect

As an MBS analyst in the Virtual Hub, the successful candidate will play an important technical role in expanding the virtual engineering culture within Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). They will be responsible for developing and implementing new simulation scenarios as well as helping to provide a single source of standardised MBS models and data for the business. They will help to define quality control standards, and work with MBS modellers around the business to find common solutions to individual problems, based on their extensive MBS experience.

They will be part of the JLR Virtual Hub and report to the Virtual Proving Ground Team Leader.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Developing, implementing and supporting new simulation scenarios that are rolled out to the rest of the business.
• Delivering the requests for MBS System simulation models (and NGD) via RMDV (Requirements management & Design Verification) for the business.
• Liaise with the attribute and CoC’s (Centre of Competence) in forming robust processes and throughput of models and data.
• Liaise with strategic software partners to develop new methods of analysis.
• Generation of MBS system models to meet the cycle plan and sequence model delivery to Product Development.
• Liaise with the programmes and CoC areas to collate NGD (Non Geometrical Data) prior to iPLM rollout.
• Liaising with the MBS Process, Methods and Tools TS.
• Support JLR’s vision of a virtual vehicle.

What you’ll need

You’ll have MBS experience alongside experience in the automotive industry. It is key to be a good team player and be self-motivated. It would be advantageous if you have Programming experience (Fortran, C++, Java, Matlab) and also good problem solving skills. Communication will be a key part of this role and dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
