An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

Location: Whitley

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our commitment to sourcing only the highest quality products for our vehicles has taken us all over the world. Join us, and it will be you coordinating a supplier base of thousands, ensuring the right part arrives at our plants at precisely the right time.

Every minute of every day, thousands of parts and materials from all over the world are shipped and delivered to our plants, ready to be utilised on our production lines within hours. At the same time, hundreds of customers from across the globe are handed the keys to their newly transported vehicles. A feat like this doesn’t just happen. Behind this momentous undertaking are our Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) team, coordinating on a massive scale to ensure our vehicles continue to roll smoothly off the production lines and into the hands of the customers awaiting them.

Vehicle Planning & Scheduling (VP&S) ensure the right orders are in the right place at the right time through developing a Manufacturing plan aligned with Sales and Purchasing to maximise customer satisfaction. Integrated across the wider business, we support an effective order to delivery system through order bank management, capacity planning, systems planning, and supplier scheduling. Creating vehicle production plans that meet sales requirements, we manage vehicle orders in line with these plans, creating and issuing supplier material schedules, conducting part number completeness, and resolving any issues.

As the Vehicle Programme Scheduler, you’ll work on tasks such as agreeing market/derivative mix with sales and populating the Pipeline Ordering System, ensuring order availability, and managing the order bank to agreed customer delivery precision and lead time targets. You’ll work with capacity planning to challenge constraints for purchase and supply base to ensure sales orders are supported and you’ll populate forecast from market ‘Take Rates’ and confirm capacity data. And most importantly, you’ll be seeking continuous improvements, identifying opportunities for process improvement, challenging current practice, and driving improvements to fruition.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

The solutions that we are creating are central to the experiences our customers love for life and we want you to be part of this journey. This role is wide in scope, varied in nature and provides an excellent development opportunity. You’ll bring your ability to thrive on challenges in what can be a complex and challenging environment.

Your technical skills will include strong numerical, analytical, and problem solving skills, along with a background in using data to inform and make decisions. You’ll be very competent in IT, MS office etc. and will be able to manipulate and present data via these channels back out to key stakeholders.

If your background includes automotive, logistics or manufacturing experience, then that is all the better, but it is not essential. More important is the drive that you’ll bring to this role. The desire to deliver against targets is key, as is the ability to make decisions quickly and to work in a fast paced environment. You’ll need the motivation to go out into the business, build relationships, communicate effectively, be a visible presence, challenge appropriately and be assertive but with a customer first mind-set. You’ll be entrepreneurial, a creative thinker, a champion for continuous improvement and will enjoy researching and benchmarking, always thinking ahead to deliver the experiences our customers love.

Finally, as you will be out in the business and at various sites, a flexible approach to work is key.

Jaguar Land Rover considers that this role does not meet the criteria to be considered within the Home Office Shortage Occupation list. Therefore, Jaguar Land Rover will not support an application for visa sponsorship and all applicants for this role must have an unrestricted right to work for an indefinite period in the UK.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you will find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team. Our employees have access to a privilege car purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan, performance related bonus scheme and 26 days holiday entitlement. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
