What to expect:
The Total Value Management (TVM) team is responsible for delivering substantial cost savings to the Business by implementing design changes, hence improving the cost base of the current products. TVM will also be using their tools and techniques to support New Model Programmes in meeting their costs targets, in line with the Cost Optimisation Process.

The Value Engineering team will provide a service to identify cost, revenue and functionality improvements through the analysis of current and future designs on a wide range of vehicle components and systems. In addition, the team will coach and support Value improvement by the use of TVM and Value Engineering toolsets (Costs Walks, Design Reviews, Lean Methodologies, Functional Analysis and Design Optimisation).

Value Engineering will play a major role in the support of cost target delivery and Value improvement for both Current and Future Programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead systematic analysis of components and systems to identify design cost and business opportunities.
• Engage with customer areas to identify their requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and events to support both current and future products, co-ordinating activities with P.D., Programmes, Cost Engineering, Manufacturing, MP&L etc.
• Liaise closely with Teardown regarding Workshop support and benchmark data.
• Support Current Product VAVE Activities
o Liaise with Commodity Business Leaders and Material Cost Managers to plan workshop activities.
o Apply suitable TVM tools & Techniques, such as Design Variance Reviews, Design Gap Analysis etc
• Support Future Programme VAVE Activities including cost and attribute target balancing
o Work closely with Cost Engineering, Programme Management and APC to deliver the Cost Optimisation Process, in line with PCS gateways.

Key Relationships:
 Product Benchmarking & Teardown, Cluster Business Leaders (CBL), TVM Managers, CoC Engineers and Purchase (including the Matched Pairs)
 Brand Teams, Vehicle CPE's and VLD’s, plus the Future / MY Programme Managers.
 All plant based functions (PVT, NMP, MP&L, Quality and CMA/AME)
 All VLBR functions (MS&S, Finance, Manufacturing, ETO, Design)
 APC & Cost Engineering
 Suppliers

Candidate Profile

What you’ll need:

· Good team leadership and business acumen, a proven methodical and disciplined approach with excellent data management, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

· Familairity of vehicle architectures, construction, assembly and manufacturing proceses.

· A broad vehicle component and sub assembly experience and associated vehicle attributes.

· Awareness of new model programme deliver processes including PCS and change management.

· Practical experience of Value Engineering and TVM Tools & Techniques is essential. A familiarity with Lean Methodologies is preferred.

· Ability to lead teams in the application of the VA/VE toolset

· Lowest total cost mindset.
